That’s a beauty. Australia right?

Last one on the illustration of the Tom Sawyer book which
n0rth great grandfathers made .
Was printed in Canada.

Thanks to n0rth he helped a bit and found a poster to buy (amazon), but I like his great grandfathers illustration more. :)
( I will make a copy of the illustration and let it print.)

Techish question.

The oil filter bracket was loose. I heard something making some noise and it had fallen on the steering shaft

So. Logic would have it the band goes in the middle between the ridges but if I put it there the output hose on the bottom hits the steering box.

Also, who sells replacement hoses? I need to put some in stock for next oil change.

As crazy as it seems that is the correct.... probably not Mr. T’s best thought out design

I got my OEM lines from SOR they’ve been discontinued for ages and now sadly SOR has run out as well.

Yeah not a good maintenance design since you have to remove the center shaft (or at least loosen it) so you can get the lid off so you can get the replaceable filter out. I might look at a 90-deg fitting on the bottom. Definitely going with stainless lines from SOR when I get to that stage, hopefully they’re still available then. Also still trying to determine how that nut seals on the bottom and what in the OEM filter kits is used for that seal.

Well to give Mr. T some credit in RHD markets it wasn’t an issue ;). There is a small o-ring that goes between bottom of the housing and the nut it comes in the still available OEM filter kit.

I was going to get a bar made for the bed to haul my new vintage Alumacraft canoe around on the Goat

After taking to my fab guy and needing to drill holes I decided to order a Yakima Outdoorsman 300 rack and 72” bar instead. This was about $250 total and no holes to drill.

It’s designed to mount with the lip inside the bed like modern trucks have so the setup is backwards. It requires a longer bar because.

Once it drops below 120* heat index I’ll go boating again. Test it out.

1. Remove shiny new Outdoorsman 300 Canoe bar.
2. Hitch to Goat tow ball via any means necessary.
3. Drive to nearest watering hole. Consume ale.
4. Drive home via the long route.
5. Reinstall now correctly patina'd Outdoorsman 300.
6. Enjoy!

I did scrape off the Yakima sicker. I’ll work on that too!

Is the Canoe new for you or does it require being pulled across the road too?

It’s vintage and beautiful. 1970’s ultralight 17’ Alumacraft. 62# which I have discovered is a breeze to load but hell to paddle in a crosswind

Someone else paddles. You steer.

Ratty old wagon, toting ratty old canoe, on ratty old roof rack is where it's at. All the cool kids are doing it.

Ole Goat cranked up with a little grinding and pumping after sitting up 2 weeks.

Had to fetch the tall ladder for some electrical work and the new rack was on point
