"Went to college, studied arts
To be an artist, make a start
Studied hard, gettin' my degree
But no-one seemed to notice me

Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?

Tried cartoons and comic books
Dirty postcards could have done
Here was where the money laid
Classic art has had its day

Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?

Did adverts for T.V
Household shops and brands of tea
Labels all around the cans
Who wanna be a painter man?

Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?
Painter man, painter man
Who wanna be a painter man?"

song by the English rock band The Creation.

Would be nice to find a poster of the illustration :).... I need one

Preface

Most of the adventures recorded in this book really occurred; one or two were experiences of my own, the rest those of boys who were schoolmates of mine. Huck Finn is drawn from life; Tom Sawyer also, but not from an individual — he is a combination of the characteristics of three boys whom I knew, and therefore belongs to the composite order of architecture. The odd superstitions touched upon were all prevalent among children and slaves in the West at the period of this story — that is to say, thirty or forty years ago.

Although my book is intended mainly for the entertainment of boys and girls, I hope it will not be shunned by men and women on that account, for part of my plan has been to try to pleasantly remind adults of what they once were themselves, and of how they felt and thought and talked, and what queer enterprises they sometimes engaged in.

The Author. Hartford, 1876.

My wheels arrived. I’ll retake my thread from the Coca-Cola swilling German asap. Hang tight.
You've been very patient.

Very happy with the looks and the ride compared to the 700-15s

They balanced up great. Small weight needed inside the wheels. The @Racer65 wheels are coming much “rounder” than my new OEM Toyota 15s have in the past.

Looks great.
Tubes or no tubes, that´s the question
...spoken by Prince Hamlet in the so-called "nunnery scene" of William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

Real nice long drive in the Goat today.

The new tires. Wow. It really made the truck drive better all around. The narrow contact patch did not effect my steering at all.

A combination of new body mounts, motor mounts, spring bushings, sway bar bushings and door weatherstrip really makes it feel so tight.

The speedometer is dead on GPS verified now. Crazy like that. Pulling 70 mph feels so good now with the reduced RPMs with the larger tires

I was expecting to feel worse braking with the larger tires but it is the opposite. With the gained traction of the radials I get a very good brake on the first stroke and no more rear lockup.

I drove about 60 miles on and off road.

It just flooded here so I stayed on gravel mostly.

I’m 100% happy with the progress all around. The Goat is in a good place right now.

32 pounds.

Techish question.

The oil filter bracket was loose. I heard something making some noise and it had fallen on the steering shaft

So. Logic would have it the band goes in the middle between the ridges but if I put it there the output hose on the bottom hits the steering box.

Also, who sells replacement hoses? I need to put some in stock for next oil change.

I’m thinking of the stainless steel ones from SOR, but they also come with the block fittings and I need those. Watching to see what others recommend hose wise and container fitment-wise.
