Well, do not keep us in suspense, why was the housing pissing ?

X2, housing to block leaking or the two halves of the housing?

Oh, sorry. The two haves are spitting right into the fan.

The amount of
Material that was left on the slower was thin, thin. I used a rubber gasket and Curred RTV on the pitted surface but they did not hold.

Algazy is sending me a good set to replace these with.

Meanwhile I’ll just scrape on this and CLR this side of the firewall

Yep. Shock is going in after I do the CLR.

I scraped about a 5 gallon bucket full of rust protectant (oily sand) off this side and the 3rd member.

Solid s*** work. Like pulling nails out of reclaimed wood. s*** job that one must do.

Happy belated 51st birthday Mr. Motor

Is that a block heater on the side of the block?

Is that a block heater on the side of the block?

It is. The wire was still attached until this morning when it fell off. Sold in North Dakota new. Dealer added I would guess.

Was finished for the day and ran to the mailbox and found these so I headed back to the shop to install

One month today Whitey is right, I’m a spaz. Sorry.

Few minutes on the Goat for some random stuff then I’m out for the rest of the day

Got new wiper blades. One side is great. One side has a huge bolt and nut in place of the OEM bolt. It has tons of slack.

I have a used replacement arm coming. It I fear it is the shaft coming out of the wiper motor that has all the slack in it.

Anyone seen this before?

The parts 40 had an FD knob. It threads were much smaller and the knob itself is smaller but I made it work with a 5/16” drill and some gorilla glue

I also installed the hazzard switch from @JackA and used the Water pump pulley from the 1970 to upgrade my duct tape drink holder.

The collar on the column had backed down and the Blinkers were not connected.

The flashers don’t work but I have a red button. That’s all that matters.

Lastly. Tech question.

I have my battery charging because I left my key on.

It’s a trickle charger. Plug up and leave it.

I just happened to touch my coil while the battery was charging and it was hot.

Not burn you hot but hot.

I detached the wires going to it. None of them were hot.

Is this normal for this to heat up when charging the battery?

I do not believe so. I think with the key on, there is power to the coil. Since the coil is just a transformer, I do not think lasting damage would occur. I assume you are charging the battery with the key in the "OFF" position ? If that is true, no power can go there , unless there is a miswire or something happening.

Ok. Dumb me. I must have had the key in the ON position. I hooked it all back up and it was cool to the touch.

Turned the key to on and 10 min later it’s warm.

Normal I assume

(Disclaimer, all my recent Cruisers have had electronic ignition so I coil stupid)
