Who's glove box light works? I thought mine didn't not work. A few weeks ago I pulled everything apart and everything looked ok. Figured bulb was burned out. Today I pulled the bulb and put power to it and it lit. Put it back in and Still no light. Turned the parking lights on and voila.... it works :) that bulb is tiny

Mine works, yup, the park lights need to on. Throws a lot of light when it's really dark out.

I was kind of impressed actually

I didn't even know my 60 had one until I discovered it while running my iPod cable into the glove box. It's cool to "discover" things that Toyota did in the 80s.

Mine work too, and there is a 2 pin source for a Toyota lamp.

Throw a LED in there and you'll really see some light...

Back left corner, turns on whenever the driving/headlights are on so no separate switch

I'm glad I checked this. I installed an LED replacement light that is polarized. I tried inserting it both ways and nothing. I didn't realize that the headlights have to be on. I thought it would just turn on when the glove box was opened. I will check this out later today. Thanks gents.

Ten years later this post helped me figure out why my Glove Box light wasn't going on! Struggled for an hour or so, then turned to MUD!

Cheers!

depends on dual battery / 24 volt setup, so my hj is 24v, everything.

oh go figure .... :D you made my day !!
Tinkering time when i get home today :)

Dual batteries doesn't necessarily mean 24v. I have dual batteries (all the 1HD-FTE engines do) but it's still a 12v system, the batteries are in parallel, not series.

Chris.....
