glove box grab bar?

looked at an '86 today, it had a grab bar over the glove box. wondering if stock or someone added it. never saw an '86, but the bar looked like it was off a 62 series.

thats the 60 series one from across seas. the stock 62 is a plastic foam style that doesn't have leather on it where the 60 does.

Yep, it's oem leather/pleather. Here's a better pic not showing the sown seam.

it looked like it spanned further from underneath. top view looks exactly the same. Can you imagine what it would do to a set of teeth on a non-buckled passenger in a collision?
