Wow! We got about an inch and a half here in the East Mountains. The wind is blowing like an S.O.B. here.

I got a pretty decent dusting over by the armory, but not much. The 4Runner had a couple inches on it but the ground was barely covered.

finally got out with some of these here "Coloradans" and did some snow wheeling. Got a very nice view of Pike's Peak. Sharing a wheeling adventure with an LR4 was "interesting". Seems like it had more jewelry on it than actual capability. The other FJ owner was a champ though. Looks like I'll be helping him install a new suspension soon. And by "helping", I mean "supervising". And by "supervising" I mean "pointing and telling". It was and will be Good Times! (Even though Grant and Scout weren't on this run).

I don't think the owners wanted to wait for a tow truck that'll never come as it got darker and the temps plummeted. I might have to drive on that trail again tomorrow just to see if there are any new stuckages.

well, I tried to go snowshoeing this am but it took me 2.5 hours just to get nearly to the top of Sandia. This is a 20 mile drive that usually takes me around 40 min but not today. Pulled out folks on the way up and down. This was the first time I got to snowshoe on the hwy!

This is where mother nature said "yeah, RIGHT. You should've brought the 80 with all four tires chained up, you silly man". I turned around here and parked facing downhill off the shoulder then went snowshoeing to the Ellis trailhead parking lot.

dude, it was an INSANE amount of snow. I got 6" at the house and the Crest hwy just kept getting deeper and deeper as I gained elevation. I turned around at a 2' drift across the hwy that stopped on my tracks.
