My failure happened in conjunction with a flooded carb going up mineral creek to engineer pass CO. It eventually turned over. I'll be working on that unknown carb too.

FYI, if you don’t have a lift, a concrete floor garage, and are diy-ing it in the winter. It takes a lot,lot longer than 10 minutes. Try about two hours.
Can anyone explain the wiring difference between an '81 fj40 2f OEM starter and the gear reduction fj60 starter part number 28100-60070-84? And what needs to be done to wire this correctly without making magical smoke?
