I just replaced my "D" light last weekend. It wasn't that bad, and I'm a half a

type of guy. The only real problem is getting the rightmost (US) AC vent out without breaking the tabs. I broke some tabs, but was in a hurry and was didn't have time or patience for finesse. If I had been in a better position, I should have taken photos.
Anyway, there is already a write-up on how to replace them here:

It's not as bad as it sounds - just be careful of the right hand vent!!!
There is a little pull-out panel on the back of the instrument cluster that contains all the little bulbs. It has an odd electrical connection with the rest of the cluster, which I am at a loss for words to describe. I'll just say that it doesn't look all that secure to me, and may be the cause of all the lights going out at once (as the original poster described). I think I recall someone once saying this little panel also houses the bulbs for the ECT and O/D off lights, but I'm not sure - you may check to see if those are non-functional too.
Anyway, don't be afraid to take your dash apart and look into the problem. But before you do that, give it a good whack with the butt of your hand. Seems to work for lots of people...
