I've fabbed driver's side front seat brackets that provide 35mm (~1.38") of increased leg room by allowing the seat to move back by the same amount. I've been driving around with them this week and they are just wonderful! I'm 5'10" with an actual inseam of 34". I can't take advantage of all the rearward movement so it should be great for taller and longer legged 100-Series owners!

The two brackets, all hardware including metric allen bolts, nuts and washers along with comprehensive instructions would need to sell for $79.99 (plus shipping...USPS <$10).

Just checking interest before I move forward with having the brackets water-jetted.

Thanks,

Dan

At 6'4", I'm OK for some reason. Seat all the way back, but logged many miles like this. If anything, the passenger's seat needs it more. Would these work there?

Typos sent from my HTC EVO using the IH8MUD app...

I voted no. I have no issues with mine. With that said I still think it is great to have a product like this available and hope it works out and becomes available to others.

I'll take a look. Couldn't be as simple as a mirrored pair . But who knows!

Maybe you'd sell more if they added 35mm going forward! For the Asian soccer moms, you know! :)

Come-on now...I can't imagine the target audience the little Japanese engineers had in mind when they designed the DS seat to practically touch the steering wheel when all the way forward! Even the natives aren't that short :D

Dan, you know my thoughts on this but I'll refrain from voting so your data isn't skewed. :D

Return PM inbound, btw.

Edit - I, too, think the passenger side brackets would be the real moneymaker. It has always felt more cramped to me on that side for some reason, and on long trips it would be really nice to have the extra room to stretch out/nap while someone else is driving.

5'10" and an appx 30" inseam leaves me good to go....at least for this one.

I am in. I'm 6'4 and could use more room. Will they work for electronic seats?

Yes...they are specifically designed for power/electric seats. Hopefully all the 100-Series & LX470 share the same seat rails and mounting hardware.

Dan, you must be drivin' gangsta style! I think we're 'bout the same height (I'm 6' 0" with a 34" inseam in slacks or 36" in jeans) and my seat is far from at the rear stops. If I'm that far back I can't reach the wheel. Now if you could make a steering wheel extension for the non-telescoping 100's that would be something I'd be up for!

I do agree with others about the pax seat. Without the need to control the vehicle, the further back the better.

Sound good, and that shipping sounds ideal for me

There seems, based upon Rusty_TLC and my recent discovery, to be variations with different year 100's as to how far back the seat will go. Mine was tolerable but not as comfortable as it is now...especially with boots on.

I think this may have something to do with seat height. If you place the seat all the way down and back and then try just moving the seat up, it wont move straight up. It moves on a slope. Two people could say they run their seats all the way back but have completely different measurements if one has the seat down and the other has it up.

- Sent from a very small supercomputer.

Agreed.

FWIW: We checked the up/down positions on both seats when we compared Rusty's '98 to my '99 and there is a bona-fide difference of 1-1/4" in seat rearward adjustment.

AFAIK there isn't any adjustment that can be made to the electric screw setting apart of the seat hardware. OTOH it just seems strange Toyota would have two different seat adjustment systems just on the 100-Series...

I'm 6'2" and while my FZJ was a little cramped, the UZJ's have plenty of leg room.
