Gas is coming up and out of my filler hose when im driving and after i fill up I have a 1970 55. I've researched and there is no fuel separator or charcoal canister on this year. How is the tank pressure supposed to be vented? Could i put a newer tank with a fuel separator on? Does anyone know a reason or thread that could help?

I have read on Mud that a new, year-specific gas cap solves the venting issue. I am sure someone here with loads more experience than myself will chime in though.

Finding a good FJ55 gas tank may not be easy. Many crack on the top. I would get the correct gas cap and also look for any sort of tank vent and be sure it's functioning. Also, try underfilling the truck when you fill it up - not ideal, but this works on every old Ford pickup on which the gas runs out the filler neck and down the side of the truck, after a fill up.

Check the fuel tank cap-could be clogged or malfunctioning

I purchased a new OEM gas cap from TOY and it still gurgles up. Uggh. Thansk for the responses and ideas keep em coming.
