Don't listen to your wife- it is okay to have the garage bigger than the house. I built my garage with 10 foot ceilings and ripped the ceiling down when I put in the 4 post lift. The lift is the best piece of equiptment that I have ever bought. I now have 13 1/2 foot ceilings in a 19'x38' with doors on each end and a 14'x14'
tool rooom attached. I have room down both walls for storage and equiptment. I can roll my lift to either end or outside.

We did a 10ft over dig past the foot print of the shop and it's a foot lower than the pad. With the stone and concrete it will be 2ft lower than the slab and it pitches around the back to grade. I don't think that water should be a problem.

I figured you thought of this, but I couldn't tell much from the pictures. It's gonna be nice.
