The EC Off-road USBs are at best going to probably only work at 2.5w (500ma@5v). Modern phones need a lot more power than that, or at least you are going to want more power for any decent charge rate. You really want a modern USB output that can do PD (usb-c) and/or a USB A port that will do negotiation to higher voltages. Most phones will work with these now.

These can charge phones usually at 10-30w. New iPhones/iPads use PD, so that’s the way I would go. A USB A with QC would cover all your other possible needs.
This is good info and describes my charging situation, thanks for the info. I wish I had researched this more before but moving forward with a better solution won’t be that big of a deal.

I’ll shop accordingly.

My 67 Design order arrived today, it’s definitely worth the coin.

Originally, I had planned to use the 2 hole diamond plate mount to mount the ball to the dash accessory plate so it would use the existing holes. However, now I’m wondering if I should go with the yak attack rail instead for better weight distribution.

I will have the 2 arms pictured below plus a shorty one with one another one of their phone holders and 3 iPhones on there. Are the 2 hole diamond mounts enough or should I move up the the rail?

@Artie - these look nice. I'm looking at the 67 Design web site and lots of options.
Is this the part >> Pro Series Arms™ - Jointed Arm Packs - https://www.67d.com/products/pro-series-arms-jointed-arm-packs?variant=43836941402366

Also saw you went with 4 point ball mounts.
Is this it > AMPS Plate - https://www.67d.com/products/amps-plate

The mounts you want are the AMPS style mounts.

The arms I went with are the nano and mini. They do not offer that combo so you have to buy separately along with 20mm-20mm elbow connector for each.

Pull tape and make sure of the length you are after, the small arms were a bit too long for me as I wanted my phone as close to the dash as possible. For my phone in the middle (I use it for obd gauges) I used just a nano.

I can share more pictures if you need different perspectives.

Thanks. I just ordered the Gamaviti panel - says it's powder coated black which is nice ;) I wasn't looking forward to finding a good shop to powder coat it.

Will probably go with 3 ball mounts and 2 power sockets with ARB housings. I prefer to run thicker wiring than what some of these low profile mounts use. Then install it and figure out all the accessory mounting options for my devices (arms, elbows, mounts etc.). Once installed, I don't want to have to remove it and bend tabs and all that.

Sounds like a solid plan. I would suggest lots of blue painters tape when drilling extra holes so you don’t scratch up the powder coat or you’ll be having it redone.

Also, you’ll want to drill relief holes into the plastic piece below that you attached the accessory mount to. This is easy and will allow you to get the tightest possible fit. You may also want to consider some thinner nylock bolts and something to cover up the holes you won’t be using, both quickly sourced from McMaster-Carr.

I've posted these photos before in other threads, but never thought to put them in the thread for the actual manufacturer of the item until seeing these last few messages regarding the panel. 67 Designs mount stays put and is used for my phone, the RAM mount track is for the screen for our tow/rearview camera and any passenger's phone (which is why it's removable), and the USBs are from Bullet Point.

So, for posterity and anyone searching in the future:

Really good info. Thanks for sharing those tips.

Question on your setup. Appears there are two round holes about dime size. Circled below. Are those the ones that you are saying to cover up? If so, I may get a grommet or something as I may run my HAM radio cable (same as Tim's) thru one hole if I decide to move radio form Proclip mount on passenger side.

Also the arrows below, did you fill those holes with something? Sorry, don't have my mount yet and trying to get parts ordered in advance.

Circled is the plug I bought to cover the hole you are mentioning, I didn’t need it but wanted it covered.

The arrow holes are blocked off from underneath with the larger diameter washers I used for the nuts. I went with larger washers to help dispersed the weight as best possible.

That looks familiar :) I used 2 of the QC 4.0 Plugs from powerwerx in the ARB socket holders
I’m about to install this combo but judging from the exterior of the ARB socket holder it sure looks like a tight fit in there. We’re you able to use standard connectors or something lower profile to make it all fit inside?

Funny you ask. I did the install yesterday w the ARB covers and Powerwerx. Crimped the provided blue spade connectors and there is not enough clearance. Powerwerx USB are longer than the default and the supplied connectors are not flexible.
I cut off the connectors and soldered wiring to Powerwerx terminals which works. Added disconnects on the wiring underneath the panel.

Ah, very good to know. Looks like I'll get some soldiering practice in and possibly dip into my limited electrical bag of tricks. Currently, my plan is to run dedicated wire from my secondary battery in through the grommet on the passenger side since I have an open fuse spot there. Where would be a good place to ground? Electrical is my weak spot when it comes to vehicle mods.

Pretty much any metal bolt screwing into metal can work as a ground. I pulled wire from starter battery, went in on driver side.
There is a panel on each side of the center console about knee height. They pop off pretty easy with a trim removal tool. On the driver side, it's the one with the push button start. Once removed, there is a 10mm bolt screwed into metal that you can use. I think there are 1-2 on the passenger side behind that panel. You're probably going to need to remove it anyway to snake the wiring up to the dash.

I’ve taken that entire stack apart a couple times fiddling with the car play thing so I’m no stranger to the trim removal… it’s when wires get involved that I get all anxious. I have much more room on the passenger side, the compressor on the drivers side makes stuff on that side a little more cumbersome.

I’ll look for an existing ground as you suggested, thanks for the info!

Got mine re-installed today. 67 Designs sent me the wrong connectors so had to wait to receive the replacement ones. Also installed Hamilton CarPlay while I at it.
Very pleased with the mount setup. I need to order a few more 67 Designs arms and mounts. Thinking I'll had an arm for my Yaesu HAM and maybe a mount for Garmin Inreach. Sorry didn't get better photos but it's pretty much like @Artie install.

Looks good!

Idk if I mentioned in my install but the 67 Design A pillar mounts for the Tacoma work for the Cruiser if you get a little longer socket head cap screw. I put my In-reach mini there along with my Yeasu FTM-400.

I do exact same with my in reach mini. Works great.
