Hi all, offering up my 1988 HJ61 that was imported from Japan earlier this year and unfortunately came with transmission issues. It is in fantastic cosmetic condition with zero rust and the engine seems quite strong. It is drivable in current state but occasionally doesn't want to go into gear and has a vibration (can provide driving videos)

Would make a great candidate for a H55 swap. These are getting very hard to find without rust in Japan and although this one does need some TLC, it is a great truck overall.

See below for details and let me know if you have any questions!

1988 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ61 High Roof
- 275,xxx KM (~171,000 miles)
- 12HT turbo diesel, automatic transmission
- Factory PTO winch
- Factory "Turbo" graphics
- Full float rear axle
- Brown interior with "Turbo" seats
- 16" Epsilon wheels, 295/75/16 BFG K02 tires (need replaced)

$20,000 OBO. I am a dealer so GA residents will be required to pay 7% sales tax on purchase. Can deliver in the southeast or coordinate delivery nationwide.

Love the rig and those are my favorite wheels. Unfortunately, the RH drive would be a death sentence for me.

It only takes a few minutes to get used to. get it and send it straight to me for a 5-speed conversion! :)

Just out of curiosity (Since I have a PTO equipped Fire Truck), would this vehicle require a specialized H55F with a longer output shaft to run the PTO? Are those transmissions still available?

Thanks

No, this HJ61 in this listing has a more typical PTO setup and would work fine on any split transfer case case (along with the normal and readily available F/H H55f) as long as a PTO gear is present.
The firetruck's with the rear-mount PTO are the ones with the long-output H55f. Those are unique to firetrucks.

I'd be all over that rig if it was LHD. Unfortunately, the RHD absolutely kills the deal for me. The search for a nice LHD 62 on the West Coast continues.....GLWS
