Hey guys, The wife and I were considering going up to Helen to check out the Octoberfest next weekend and camp in the 100. Unfortunately the state park up there is booked and the fed park is closed. Anyone have a suggestion regarding a decent camping spot to park the 100 for the night up there?

Expo Portal has been all over this topic but you have to have an RTT to hang with those guys, it's required. Wait for it, wait for it. :flipoff2:

In that neck of the woods from what I understand Jones Creek is open but is getting more than it's fair share of traffic due to lack of options and great weather. If ya don't get there early or even Friday ya gots no chance. I think they also like to hit Lake Conasauga in the Cohutta neck of the woods or Wildcat(?) near Suches.

OR Save it and come down for the Annual!

Thanks for the suggestions Ted. I started looking at the loop north of Cohutta that is posted on the Georgia Overland site. Dunno what the wife will ultimately decide she wants to do. :meh:

Good job! Looked about as tedious and nail-biting as the loading was. haha

Wow! Only marginally (sarcasm) sketchy! Glad you got it back on its wheels. What's the time line for getting it back together? Just whenever you can? And I'll be happy to lend a hand sometime if I can ever find time to get up that way.

No wasn't at all. What you can't really tell in the video is that we had it anchored to the back wall of the shop with the winch so it wasn't going anywhere. The lift was only to hold up the front.

Oh gotcha. Yeah you can't see that in the video.

That was an impressive dismount! :steer: So I am guessing you found a front axle for it. Hope you get the electrical gremlin sorted.

Only needed a new knuckle, so it was a lot easier than having to get a whole new axle...I bought half of an axle rebuild kit from Sam and upgraded to ARP knuckle and hub studs since those were the faulty factory parts...

The axle is all put back together, We just have to figure out why it isnt starting. Saturday will be dedicated to just that and putting some of the small stuff back (front right shock and front spring retainers)...hope we fix it before the annual so I dont have to beg John to let me wheel Josh's 40 before I go into withdrawls...
