Sad day today - but two different types of sad:
1) "Death in the family" kind of sad: Ol' Rusty Red heads off to the crusher today. Stripped to the bone and then, from what I'm told, beaten like a red-headed step child like they did to that printer in Office Space. :'(
2) "Roll your eyes" kind of sad: Recent vehicle purchases and associated espenditures have left my pockets quite empty... but my favorite beverage at the package store went on sale again finally, and for way less than usual, so I had to buy.... a lot.![]()
On a brighter note, this time tomorrow I'll be almost to SORVP for Southern Cruiser Crawl - although it'll be my last TLCA event for quite a while probably.
it's all good bud, out with the old and in with the new. Rusty Red was just a stepping stone to bigger and better things like the ghecko, and the Taco. Look at all the things it taught you along the way.
It's gonna be a real bummer when you leave, I gots no-one to night wheel with anymore. Between you, Josh and Dave (who just sold his truck) we're gonna be 3 trucks down from the core group I started wheeling with now 5 1/2 years ago. That still leaves a handful of ole' reliables like John, Nick, Adam and Sid but the group is shrinking.
I need to go recruiting I guess.Jealous of you going to the SCC, have fun but save the truck for at least 1 or 2 more rides then you can break it.

Looking forward to see where you take the rig.
You should try and come up for a wrenching weekend sometime though...

I can certainly understand that.
