yeah, 4 sounds about right. After the 3rd time he took the tranny to Turner Offroad in Canton and pleaded for help, turns out we had a few minor things out of place that made all the difference. In the end it got new brakes, new brake lines, new seats, rebuilt tranny, new radiator, new tires and probably other stuff I'm forgettin'. I should've gotten pics of the seats, they turned out perty nice! It's now as road worthy as a 52 Willys can be for the first time in 20 years, he was a really happy camper driving it onto the trailer.

Not sitting in backyard full time though that spot does look ripe for an 8' deep hole. We've pushed it out and winched it back in many times. Now that dad's Jeep is out of the way PERHAPS we can fix Nick's pile and then yours. You still thinkin' about Thanksgiving?

He was probably from somewhere in middle TN. So far the SYE for the heep and the roll-cage for the red heep were both buddies from Columbia. And I think the girl who put the lightbar on the Taco was from southern KY.

I don't know, nor have I ever even seen that rig. Maybe someone has seen it around.

The girl was Nicole Darcy from the Ttora crowd now living in Chattanooga. They installed the lightbar on her husband's (Colin -newly married) white taco. They both made it to GSMTR '12 along with several other Ttora folks.

Where did I get KY from... Didn't they get Married at Harlan? Maybe that's why I thought that. I remember they showed pictures of them on the trail somewhere in wedding attire.

How do u like my new tent?

No, Dave's has propane and a custom built bed on back with tool boxes. That truck has a bobbed factory bed on. It does look very similar though.

That is Dave's truck, you are getting his confused with John's...

This guys either has balls the size of stone mountain or he's dumb as bag of hammers, either way...

so scrolling through some of the Dixie Run vids held at Golden Mountain a week or two back and saw something a bit odd. Obviously we've never seen this section before, must be brand new since July.

it's on the splash screen but FF to 17:20 for a good look

Michael found that last time we were up there. It's called "The Jungle". It's not on any trail maps. It's right off of 2 on the side where you drop in from the ACC pavilion. About halfway down where the huge stump is, take a right. We were all discussing after the UC OTMT tour about mapping it next time we're up there in November. I rode with Michael in the 40 and it was awesome. Can't wait to hit it up in the mini. Also, there are some new trails up off of 8 that are pretty sick. Some really difficult ledges and stuff. We actually had to back down off of one.

Ted, that was about 20 feet behind you when you winched up that section in "The Jungle" and the rest of us turned around. If you'd gone right across the top of that boulder/slab that you went left of, there are two or three more exits and that's one of them. It's totally sketchy though and I don't think I'd drive across it unless it was 1000% dry! The cost of a screw up, or if that wood breaks, is not worth the risk. I'm a little surprised they even put that in considering SOMEday it WILL break and the unlucky sole may end up going driver's-side-first barrel rolling right off a small cliff.

We rode some of the new unmapped trails around 8 in July but somehow missed that spot. I'll have to seek it out next time I'm up there.

Steve--I here ya bud, wouldn't want to go up that wet either but those Jeeps are a lot heavier than you and me so don't think there would be an issue of it breaking, at least not for a long time.

There's no way that bridge will break. Mike and I walked it and it's got like 8x8 (12x12 maybe?) metal supports running the length of it. The wood was fairly substantial as well. Also, you don't have to go out that way. There are a bunch of trails intertwined right there. That drops you back up at a connector trail that goes back over to 2. You can stay to the left and there are a couple of other ways to go. That's the first place I'm going when I get there in November. :grinpimp:

Edit: I don't think the unmarked trails off of 8 join up with that section Ted. I could be wrong though. We rode all over the trails off of 8 and left that area (back down on 2) before we went back to "The Jungle".

Yeah I was gonna say I must be readin' the sign in my pic wrong but i coulda' sworn it said "Welcome to the Jungle." I could be wrong as well though, I mean it is late in 2013 so I am due at some point. :flipoff2:

We got there by coming up 8 and turning right under that sign, this effectively gets you into the area b/w Tr 8 and Tr 2 where you came in from. We got pretty far back in there but Ben's heavy ass wagon on 35s was not gonna make it so everyone but me turned around. I ended up winching up one of the exits as Steve said which must've been just around the corner from that bridge.

Either way a cool little spot.

That makes sense. They are right next to each other. I just don't remember seeing anywhere that they ran into each other. That sign looks different too. The sign we saw was on one of the huge boulders when you come in off 2.

Sad day today - but two different types of sad:

1) "Death in the family" kind of sad: Ol' Rusty Red heads off to the crusher today. Stripped to the bone and then, from what I'm told, beaten like a red-headed step child like they did to that printer in Office Space. :'(

2) "Roll your eyes" kind of sad: Recent vehicle purchases and associated espenditures have left my pockets quite empty... but my favorite beverage at the package store went on sale again finally, and for way less than usual, so I had to buy.... a lot. :o

On a brighter note, this time tomorrow I'll be almost to SORVP for Southern Cruiser Crawl - although it'll be my last TLCA event for quite a while probably.
