All -

I had a present last week when I got home from work - five boxes from Champion Beadlock. I sent them five OEM FZJ80 wheels about three weeks ago for their C3 16" conversion. The wheels are awesome and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding. I can't say enough about how nice they are. I dropped them off on Monday at Rick's Powder Coating (Memphis) and they are being powder coated in a metallic anthracite color and I decided to leave the beadlock ring polished. I have attached a few pictures showing the wheels upon their arrival. When I get them back from Rick's I will post up some more pictures.

Me likey. Me likey lots.

x2 on cost?

Mark - I was reading on Champion's website that these are only good up to 1500 lbs per wheel. Is that your understanding from working with them? My back wheels are already over that limit.

Also, it looks like you got the lug-centric style wheels. Make sure you use the right lugs :)

I can't wait to see the finished products. Those rings look seriously beefy.

I too am interested in the total investment per wheel when all is said and done.

Subscribed just to see how they turn out. Looks great !

They are 1997 wheels and they are lug centric...I will definitely use the right lugs. In regards to the pricing, I purchased the wheels used for about $75.00 a pop (x5), Champion charged $1,200 for the conversion, and I think the powder coating is going to run around $400. So, that brings it to roughly $395 a wheel.

In regards to the load rating per wheel. Per discussions with Champion, for safety reasons they put the on road rating at 1,500lbs per wheel and "unlimited" off road. So, you can do the calculation on that one. I think their main concern is that folks will run their beadlocks at high speed without any "precautions". They are big on making sure that you torque your bolts correctly and check them frequently. If you saw the wheels in person, you wouldn't be worried about running them full time. My plan was to keep a set of off road tires on the beadlocks and run my normal wheels on new BFG AT's.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Man that looks awesome!

I'm still pretty tempted by getting beadlocks, but I think the :princess: is more inclined to saving for a house.
