Good morning team -

I need to add a fuse tap for the purpose of running my Profile Hi-Lens 2.0 LED high beams on DRL mode. DRL mode requires 12v, so a splitter off the factory high beam wire/line is not working in this application.

Specifically needing advice/direction on what fuse to tap? The only requirement is that this fuse needs to be 'on' as soon as the vehicle starts vs. on a switch or otherwise not 'always on.' I haven't done alot of electrical to date, and don't see an obvious location in the main panel. I'm also aware of the panel in the driver's side footwell, but I'd prefer not to go thru the firewall to access that panel if I don't have to/need to. I'm also open to any other ideas that come to mind, seems like there should be a relatively simple solution to either fuse tap this little white wire or splice it into an existing connection. Thanks for any pointers on this one boys!

Fuse taps are generally frowned upon. If your really want to go the route then you need to run it in inside the cab where you can use a actual fuse tap.
Bussmann Circuit Fuse Tap - https://www.autozone.com/electrical-and-lighting/fuse-and-accessories/p/bussmann-circuit-fuse-tap/547344_0_0 or something similar

IMO you don't want to tap into the main fuse panel in the picture 🙄

Ok thanks - what location(s) on the inside panel would you suggest?

Any splice options come to mind as an alternative?

I would rather use the fuse tap than splice into the wires. Much easier to remove if you ever want to.
Judging by the wire size it must be a low draw circuit, Probably triggering a relay.
If there’s a cigarette lighter or power port that you don’t use would be a good option. They’re usually only powered on with the key on.

I'll post a pic later
there are 2 open spots in the fuse panel under the cover shown above
the 2 places not labeled with a hash mark thru the box
keyed power is in 1 slot of each

here is what I did,
I did this as my @medtro fix
I only used the tap portion of the tap fuse as there wasn't a fuse in that circuit before
it is keyed power

The way you are wiring it, the DRL's will be on when in accessory switch position. Consider this....
