I need to know where every fuse box on the LX450 is located at.

I recently was listening to my stereo when the stereo, antenna, sub, amp and speakers all turned off and just stopped working completely. I went to the stereo shop where I bought it today and they couldnt find the fuse so they said for now, they powered it through my cigarette lighter but that means it wont remember any presets at all. I want to find this fuse and get it fixed. Please help me out.

Fuses are in two places, on left of the steering wheel behind a little panel and a second fuse box is in the engine compartment on the drivers side. Your fuse is likely in the one to the left of the steering wheel.

Odd. I saw him check those today and he said they were all fine. Im about to go pull every one of them and see what happens.

A lot of us run an additional fuse panel that we add ourselves. I mounted mine on the firewall just above the brake MC. I have this hardwired to the battery and power my CB, FOG Lamps, and two Auxilery power outlets off of it.

Do your dome lights work?

You should check the ground as well. If the ground connection came off it won't work.

You can verify these are hot with a meter. Take the fuse out, only one side will be hot with the fuse out.

If they are all good, then likely a disconnected wire. Disconnect the battery and remove the fuse block er the FSM instructions (simple). Then trace the wire with an ohm meter. At this level of disassembly, it would also be easy to run another wire to the radio fuse off the back side.

Hurry up and answer,

I have to go rabbit hunting.

OK,

I gotta go.

The dome fuse, in the fuse block under the hood, powers the radio memory.

Yes. Everything else in teh car works except for the antenna controls.

Im gonna go check the ground now. I wonder where they grounded it to? Im sure the frame, but this should be fun finding it.

I also added fuses run from the battery. Currently using two, one for each amp.

Also, when I turn my stereo to 00 which is no volume I hear a constant bass tone from my sub. Im going to take it back up to the stereo shop tomorrow because everything seems to be fine, I think it might be the head unit though.

Capo;

Check fuse#1 in my chart. What few people know is that the cig lighter is double fused. If excess power is drawn from the cig lighter system, an internal fuse in side the lighter (#30 gauge wire) will blow; however, the #1 fuse may not blow. [2 fuses in series]. This disables a number of systems, like the motor control of the mirrors, antenna systems, radio.

Remember; this is based on my 1994 FZJ80. Wiring on other '80's may differ slightly...

Thank you alot for the help. Unfortunately none of it solved my problem. It HAS to be the head unit, ive tried everything. Thank god for warranties. I wont have to spend 280$ on another head unit.

I have used Sound Waves at 7175 Stage Road (Hwy 64) (Between Summer & Appling) Ph: 901-377-1001, with good results. I really like their service.

Ya ive been in there before. Im using Collierville Car Audio. The guy is really really cool so I really dont expect any trouble about this. But if you ever really need a car audio expert, either go to Collierville Car Audio, or Extreme Auto Accessories. NEVER go to stereo one unless you wanna pay ALOT.

Ok so I went back today. He said I have an interference from my amp and its running back into my head unit because pioneer put a fuse in their new head units allowing current to flow both ways instead of a diode that made it run only one way. Hes gonna pull it out on monday and send it in.
