Recently picked up a triple locked 1994 80. Are these usually full float rear? What are the visual clues?

Yes. Axle hub protrudes out from center wheel hole. Semi float is flush or behind the wheel center hole.

A semi-float has a cover on the rear of the diff to access the c-clips that hold the axle shafts in.
A full-float has no cover.
If your 94 has rear disc brakes and/or ABS you have a full-float otherwise it is semi-float
