Toyota has announced a major recall due to concerns about fuel pump failures. I wonder if my 2018 LC is affected. Having the fuel tank dropped to get a new fuel pump is not something I would want on my vehicle if it can be avoided. Maybe not all TLCs are involved?

"The vehicles under the recall are:
2018-2019 Model Year Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350
certain 2019 Model Year Lexus NX 300, RX 350L, and GS 300
certain 2018-2019 Model Year Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra
certain 2019 Model Year Toyota Avalon and Corolla"

Just got my recall notice for my 2015 LX570 with the obligatory we don't have a fix yet closing statement. Don't call us we'll call you.

@SWUtah there have been a few people with issue but not very many - certainly no more than any other occasional random issue that requires repair

We'll see if this eventually changes but for now on my 2013 I see "There are no open Safety Recalls or Service Campaigns for this vehicle."

Definitely caught me off guard when I got the recall because I’ve always read all the posts on Mud I’m not seeing anything like this or people That were having a problem with their fuel pump it will be interesting to see what they come up with always nice to have a new fuel pump for free

I got the notice the other day so a replacement is in my future. My concern is if they will be able to do the swap with ARB drawers installed.

Pretty sure you go in from the beneath the second row seats to unplug the connector and lines, and then drop the tank out from below. I think you can get away without removing the cargo area carpet. I had this area apart when I was troubleshooting a stalling issue last year.

Well, I'll be sure to ask when I make the appointment, but I'm sure they won't be able to tell me. I'm not sure which dealer I will go to, I was not happy with the biggest one near me (Toyota of Portsmouth) after that seatbelt fiasco. But they are the only place around here that has any experience with 200's, they always have a couple on the lot.

Was out crawling around in the back, and I don't see any way to get under the carpeting with the drawers installed. The seams are way far forward under the front seats, and way behind the front of the drawer chassis. That is gonna suck if I have to take them out.

2015 LXs are effected by this fuel pump recall? The CNN article above references late model Toyota/Lexi 2018+.

I received the Interim Notice letter last week about my 2014 LX ....

Just had my 18 serviced and they said 'no open recalls.' However it seems like they should say 'there is a recall but we don't have the solution in place yet.' My guess is they aren't doing it that way to avoid all the rental car costs other manufacturers had on the airbag recall for people who didn't want to drive their car until it was repaired.

Was at my Lexus dealer today install a new battery and they said that they ordered a replacement for my fuel pump because of the recall and they’d call me in a couple days when it’s in but they should have it within 10 days to install. Am I like the first they’re doing this for?

First I've heard.

Did you have the recall done? Were there any issues doing it with your ARB drawers installed? I have an ARB drawer installed and would like to know what to expect before scheduling the recall. Thank you!

No I haven't had it done yet. I guess I assumed that Toyota would let us know when the fix was available, but maybe not. I'm also not sure which dealer I'll use for the recall, I'm pretty equal distant between 4 of them.
