Hello everyone... I am hoping I could get some help with the fuel gauge on my 87 pickup. I recently swapped out the gauge cluster for the SR5 version. My old cluster fuel gauge worked then when it hit the half way mark, it would go to empty. Pretty good sign of a faulty sending unit. Anyhow, when I replaced the cluster with the SR5 cluster, I knew the tank was over half empty and expected the gauge not to work. I filled up the other day, expecting the gauge to go to full but it did not. Do the SR5 clusters require a different sending unit to function correctly? Is there a simple way to test the gauge with the cluster installed or do I need to pull it again to test?Thanks for any assistance.
