Shoot.... wish I would have known procedure before disconnecting battery, removing starter, replacing radiator, water pump, thermo, hoses, and Pesky Heater hose. Still have to put in the starter but with it out it is easier to remove fuel line.
Any other alternatives ---- maybe just loosen gas cap, and loosen fuel line hoses, high pressure first?
I did mine and it wasn't too bad. Might as well do your PHH at the same time. Here's some tips
1. Loosen both banjos before removing mounting bolts.
2. Once you remove mounting bolt closest to to you can look and see the other bolt on the other side which makes it easier to get your socket on.
3. Once the filter is in place install the banjos and copper washers loosely.
And tighten them up once the filter is installed and tight and make sure to check for leaks.
4. MAKE sure you use a flare wrench or box end wrench.
Did you all replace the four little gaskets? Don't remember ordering those when I got my fuel filter couple years ago. Anyway, was getting ready to do this job and saw this post.
