I loved the "death wobble" in my ZJ. Nothing like the axle trying to shake it's way free. If I'm to believe Christo (and I do) "death wobble" is mainly from too negative of caster
Hmm, not sure I fully believe that..I'm sure it can contribute to it, but other things will affect it too. On my '81 I have the front axle tipped back enough so I know I have positive caster, but I can still get death wobble. Not much anymore, and I know the 'feel' of it, so I slow down before it goes crazy. It does scare the shiat out of you though when you look out and see how wild that front-end is going...and you realize it might actually come off...eeek...

On my '81 is has fairly beatup spring bushings, a spring over and shackle reversal, so it seems to get pretty loose at times.

Dudes,

Just get a lifetime alilgnment at your favorite national tire chain and be done with it :flipoff2: This way you can wheel like mad and then go in for a free alilgnment afterwards. I always use Firestone since they're nation wide. If I bent something in UT, I just hit a Firestone in CO on the way home. Tires are too expensive to be driving around with a bad alinged vehicle! :D

Actually you are right. Doing a quick search brought up some of these jems:

Of course this is my favorite link:

So Death Wobble can be caused by a lot of factors, but namely a neglected suspension.

So I'll just go away now and shut up.
