I have just replaced the gears in my front diff. I also pulled my rear pumpkin off and checked those gears. I reassembled both front and rear and the rear is fine but the frond diff locker shows as locked while the switch is on the off position.

I pulled the truck forward and reversed it as well to try to see if it would disengage. It did not. I checked the connections and they are good, i also checked the vacuum hose and it is connected. I drove the truck about 100 yards and it still did not disengage. I gently tapped the diff locker actuator and motor with a rubber mallet and it is still locked.

Could i have reinstalled it incorrectly? It doesn't seem like i could have as it is a straight forward install.

Please help!!

Thanks!

Did you verify that the front differential is actually locked, vs just the indicator light indicating it is locked?

Absolutely, it turns like there is no power steering.

You may have installed the actuator improperly.
So I did not engage the locker when I removed it. When the gears came back I just put the locker in place. I have been advised I need to remove two 10mm bolts and a plate on the side, remove the locker motor, and adjust the "fork". I will try this and hope it is as easy as it sounds.
