man i really dig the way your tying it all together and keepng it looking like a pig, thats really what purist is all about for me, make it better but keep it the same.
That is the way that I was heading, but the radius on my die is 6". I couldn't make a tight enough bend for the top bar bend, so it turned out easier to kinda start from scratch. That is EXACTLY what I want on my Pig. I was going to use a set of lower fenders to bend tubes and place within but I like your method much better of bending tubes and placing new sheet on top.
Simply awesome work. I've saved your pics to model mine after.

P.S. I just read your thread " the beast". Great work! I need to replace spots on my floor to. Its nice to see how someone else does something.
I like your fenders better the way they are instead of reusing the lower factory fenders. Did you weld your lower tube into your sliders? How did you attach the rear tube that runs parallel to the ground and ends between the vent and rear view mirror?
Here is a picture of how I mounted the bars on the cab side. The lower bar is welded to a piece of 2"x2" angle iron, with is bolted to the sliders. So that I can still remove them just as if they where stock.Joel
That pic is perfect! I love how they are still removable. The lower mount appears solid. How do you think the front mount will hold up to solid contact w/ a rock or the ground? Do you have the fenders tied in anyway under the vent near the upper fender in the rear?
The sheet metal between the upper bar and upper fender is welded to a 1" strip of what was the lower fender. Which is bolted to the front clip. And as far as the front I am still trying to figure out how I will tie that into the lower valance (piece between the fenders?) for more strength.Joel
Could this be as easy as welding a tab to the inside of the tube then drilling and tapping hole in the in the valance? and possibly adding some material to the valance for more structural integrity?
great looking pig shortbus. i look forward to meeting you on the mcgrew trail run. where are you located?

Looking good! I'm using yours as a model for mine that I hope to fab up in a few months. What type of tubing did you use?
what are you running for steering, starting a project much like yours, ok a copy somewhat?
thanks
