i have a 80' Fj40 and i just installed 35's on her and the calipers are the original ones. I would like to upgrade to a 60 series caliper. Is this a simple swap in or would i need to do more then that? I have installed new calipers on all my 60's and 62's and can tell a difference in new calipers. I would like to order today from Napa (that's were i got all the other ones with no complaints) but wanted to make sure this was possible.

Thanks.

I heard that the V-6 fourrunner calipers were better than FJ60 calipers. Four big pistons as opposed to 2 big and 2 small...so that's what I used.

Yes, this is true. Ask for early 90's 4Runner calipers with the V6 engine and you will get the right ones. But it also really helps to upgrade the master cylinder and booster to one from the same vintage truck. The MC has a 1" bore, and the booster is a double-diaphram and a little bit larger.

60 and 40 series calipers are the same thing....there is no 'upgrade' with installing them.

Yea i found that out after i posted this. I called Napa and the brake calipers are the same for both.
