Front Body Mount Clearance for Tires

So, I had 285/75 r 17 BFG AT KO2's mounted on Ultra 195 17x9 wheels, and they rub on the front body mount in the wheel wells. I am wondering how many here have clearanced that mount, and how you did it. Did you cut and reweld some metal in? Do you have pictures?

Hit up ScatAdams on here, I just saw his truck this week and he had to trim the body mount for his sick tire wheel combo! It may be in his build thread? It looked as though he trimmed it and painted the exposed metal. Did not weld a plate back in.

I cut the metal and painted, no welding in new. plenty left to not worry about it, but you can weld in a cap if you like.

Thanks for the replies. I will take the sawzall to it tomorrow and finish making room for the treads. I can't wait to get it dirty!

While your trimming the mount I would break out the box cutter and trim the mud flaps.

I trimmed the front body mounts, but didn't trim the mud flaps yet. I'll do them soon.
