Front and rear fogs, in a way I haven’t seen before...

Hey all, finishing up a new project and excited to share. Going for a bit more of a Dakar/adventure truck look vs. loaded down rock crawler/overlander. All of the lights are VisionX. The toggles are for always on (red rear, yellow front) and there is a separate arm switch for allowing the brights to toggle the fronts.

Interesting location for the rear dust light.
 
Couple of questions:
Is the rear light the one in the receiver hitch?
Not really sure what a Dakar/Adventure setup is compared to an Overland/Expedition build?
To tell the truth, never heard of a Dakar build. Is that particular to the Middle Ease or North Africa?
Can you please expand?

The thing in the rear hitch is a Factor 55 recovery point. The rear fog is mounted up to the right of the license plate.

re. My Dakar comments, purely a stylistic thing. If you google pics of Prados that have run Dakar you’ll see what I mean.

the truck is used as a family adventure-mobile in the Northeast. So lots of on road trips, lots of fire roads etc in New England, and some snow.

Ahhh...
Now I see the rear light! My rear bumper has two inset LED's along with the factory backup lights and they are great at night with the backup camera! They light everything up!
Googling Prado's in Dakar, it looks like they're set up more for speed than self-sufficiency.

Let's talk about the Porsche 959 in the shop though...

I let that go because I assumed it was a kit car. If that’s a real 959 then drooling commencing...
 
I didn't think 959's were ever legal in the U.S.
If I remember right, Porsche didn't want to wreck enough car's to cert for DOT since it was a very limited run which was done, again, I believe to qualify for a racing series.
Feel free to correct me on any or all my points above.
 

The 959 was not street legal in the United States prior to 1999 when the "Show or Display" law was passed, although an unknown number were imported via the "grey market" during the late 1980s as show pieces. Porsche didn't provide the United States Department of Transportation with four cars required for crash testing, so the car was never certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for street use in the U.S. In 2001, with the passage of "Show and Display", the crash test requirements were removed and import of the 959 was allowed, assuming the car could meet the emissions standards applicable in 1987. The 959 could be fitted with a catalytic converter and a re-programmed computer which allowed it to meet those emissions requirements. As the 959 was a pre-1996 car, it was not required to pass any emissions testing; due to the fact that all cars are now over 25 years old and are therefore completely legal for US import, they are no longer required to comply with show and display laws.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates bought a 959 before the model had Department of Transportation and Environmental Protection Agency approval. The car was stored for 13 years by the Customs Service at the Port of San Francisco, until the Show or Display rule came into force.[27][28][29]

I’d love to, but I wasn’t joking when I said it wasn’t mine! Unfortunately no pics allowed as per owner and the shop. But if you’re ever in the NYC are let me know and I’ll see what I can do!
 
Doesn’t Jerry Seinfeld have one? To me the 959 is the almost holy grail of Porsche’s. But that honor goes to a real authentic 356 Speedster. So beautiful, I doubt I’d fit in one though. Haha.
