Heading out to Masset this evening for the weekend to unload some dirt, let's grab some beers soon!

Not really cruiser related, but this is what Prince Rupert looks like

Found a small oil leak today, patched it up with some hose clamps

Hopefully next weekend Ill be bolting in a new oil pressure gauge to the dashboard.

Plan is to put it in one of these vents

On a sidenote, even after rebuilding all my tie rod links and bushings my steering is still klunking about.
Could it be my steering box thats clunking? Really hoping to not have Radd send one up...

if you still have stock steering there are a lot of joints to be clunking. Just get someone else to turn the wheel side to side really slowly and see if you can see where the play is occuring.

If it is the box you should be able to turn the steering shaft coming from the wheel by hand from under the hood and feel the play...

Also check you rag joint.

Retorqued anything since you installed the leaves? Ubolts loosen up after a bit.

Done your knuckles?

Otherwise, if nothings obvious, it's a cruiser. Stuff clunks.

Jordan, that hose you clamped will become a problem shortly. I'd consider the hose clamps a band aid while you wait for the new hose to arrive.

X2 on what Ryan said.

Have you checked your trunion bearings.... and or replaced them properly?

Clunking doesn't feel to be coming from the axle, leaning towards my steering box being worn out, will be checking rag link after work tomorrow.
I took apart the upper rod link tonight and gave the pitman arm a good shake and lo and behold a surprisingly similar knocking sound resulted.

As for that hose, do think I could get some simple banjo fittings from one of the diesel shops around here, or should I get radd to send one up?

What does that hose do, exactly?

Replacing my trunion bearings when I did my axle job made a huge difference with steering on the road. The bearings had basically become oval. But even so, they had definitely not got to the point of clunking.

Hose supplies oil to something important....Follow hose to see what oil is supplied to.

Usually best to keep oil on the inside of the hose.

Any decent hydraulic shop should be able to make you a new one...shouldn't be that much.

Clunk, get someone to waggle the steering wheel while you crawl around.

(hint) you'd have noticed if you'd listened to some of that sage advice a few pages back and done your own alignment....:flipoff2:

its rupert. Good luck finding a hydraulic shop.
I ordered a new turbo feed and drain and its been THREE MONTHS.
Twits.

There's a few:

1685 Ogilvie St S, Prince George, BC V2N 1W7
1685 Ogilvie St S, Prince George, BC V2N 1W7

Or ask the guys at Western Star they should know someone:
5239 Continental Way, Prince George, BC V2N 5S5

You can always build your own with trans lines + barb fittings depending on the pressures. Get the barbs with the yellow fittings that are pressure rated for auto trans lines.

It's an industry town, if you've got trucks and equipment, there'll be shops to fix them. When I worked for WM, we'd be lucky it we could get through a month without replacing a hydraulic line.

Thanks guys!

Havent' had much time in the last couple days to call up radd or look around, but will make some time tomorrow at lunch to give these people a call

bytown diesel is the only spot to get that sort of work done.
They have been having problems with shipping getting the fittings I need.
At least AN fittings....

Luckily I dont have a turbo :flipoff2:

Shouldnt be that hard to get Banjo fittigs though

Hold up there, that hose is the high pressure side for the vaccum pump on the alt. Those hose clamps aren't doing a thing that is a outer casing you clamped, use break clean and clean the area around the banjo bolts then replace the copper washers, problem should be solved.

Got in contact with Radd today, seems like $98 is the magic number for this small oil line...

Safe to say it's a bit over the top?
