Well, that was the hardest thing Ive had to do so far on my cruiser.

Full rebuild of the front Birfields. Messy, smelly, awkward, and... finished.

Sadly not, heading east for a wedding this weekend.

Anyone wanna go wheeling next weekend?

Ya, not fun. I tell people its a tub of grease, a box of rubber gloves and 2 rolls of blue shop towels (and a case of beer). Of course if you are Andrew you show up with 4.5 pairs of medium gloves, have to provide your own shop towels for his rebuild and have to chase him to the beer store after the job is done to get the case of beer...... but I digress. :flipoff2:

Good to see you are sticking with the neon paint there J! :grinpimp:

ohhh yeah, general rule now is that if it comes off for repair, its getting painted.

I wasn't all alone though, got a friend who's doing the mechanics program at camosun to come in and learn a bit about birfields.

The most tragic part of that story is the thought of having to suffer through the birfield ordeal without beer. Andrew you heartless bastard. :flipoff2:

Ya. Had he brought the beer.... memory of the event might be a little clouded and my previous post non existent. Funny how things work out. :hmm:

So I finally got tired of breathing in exhaust gas.
3" straightpipe, really quiet at low throttle, and instantly loud when on the pedal.

I ran my 3B without a muffler and without a turbo for about a week. LOUD as f*uck.

Turbos are cooler than mufflers...... Come to think of it, turbos are mufflers that make you go faster.
The choice is clear.

Not sure I want to wheel with you any more.

Def needs turbo. :wrench:

Turbo will be coming further down the line (think end of summer) as well as a engine rebuild too, Currently sitting pretty at 663,000km and burning a bit of oil on acceleration, just adjusted the rockers and she runs great!

Getting a muffler tomorrow morning because I really would like to hear music again...

Right on man.
