I've been a very happy Hundy owner for the past 10 yrs. My rig is an '03 with 210k miles on it that I picked up in 2013 with 88k miles. It's been fantastic to own. I started searching for the face lifted 2016+ 200 a couple of years ago, but it was hard to swallow $70k + for a used rig that in many cases already had signs of corrosion living in the salt belt.

My rig was $63k in 2003 which is $104k in today's dollars (insane). So, the 250 at $55K - $65K is interesting. It's still a lot of money, but I never dreamed I would be able to buy a new LC.

Any other 100 owners considering taking the plunge on a 2024 LC?

On the way to HIH7:

Gorgeous 100. I had a 2004 LX470 and a 1999 myself and I can tell you I miss them every day. I saw the 250 at the museum yesterday and it's a great vehicle. I am in the same boat. It would be fun to buy a land cruiser new. That or I hope for a very successful 250 that can get me in to a 200. I paused every time with the 200 not because of price but because I never felt it was a big enough upgrade for me from the 100 and I like the 100s driving manners more. It's a great time to be a land cruiser enthusiast. We have tons of options.

I just watched a review, and im considering it. Coming from my 100 series which I love, but is currently in the process of an engine swap....that mid $50's price tag is tempting...

Currently own an 80. I will say, the 250 has caught my interest. I will have to wait until they start dropping on dealer's lots and go for a look/see to see one in person and get a better idea if this is the route I want to go. I want to see the aftermarket response too.

I'm a former LX470 owner and current 80 owner. I put a deposit down yesterday for the 250. Like some of you, I always saw buying a new LC as a pipedream or something that won't happen until I'm too old to enjoy it. The 250 isn't the perfect LC by any stretch but it checks a ton of boxes, including the "buy a brand new cruiser" box. I'm hoping this is the last vehicle I buy until my daughter can drive.

it is great seeing all these posts, looks like this will be an excellent seller.
The more people buying new land cruisers the better stuff we will hopefully get in future models as well.

THIS ;)

If you were previously thinking about going to a 5th gen 4Runner the new 250 makes a lot of sense, as it is a successor to the 150 platform and not the 60/80/100/200 series platform. If you are expecting it to be overbuilt like the 100 series is I believe you will be disappointed but time will tell once we have a thorough look under this thing.

This is how I feel too. Initially I was considering the new 4Runner, but to be able to buy a dream vehicle for a bit more is tempting.

My take away here is that 100 and 200 prices might get a little softer once people can actually buy a 250. I also was shopping 100/200s but will now go the route of the 250 LC

IMO, the 250 is a return to the 60/80 style execution of the Land Cruiser, even though it's technically a Prado. There's a reason the press reels show the 60s and 40s alongside the new 250. The 100/200/300 are lux towing/family haulers in comparison and I feel like they're a different market segment entirely. Back in 1988, my FJ62 was basically $45k AFI and that's around where this reintroduction slots in. A simple optioned, lifestyle-product offroader, but not rock crawler is the segment that fits the marquee best in the U.S. I see this basically swooping in on the TRD Pro 4Runner crowd to get an additional $5-$10k out of the segment with a more identifiable heritage brand that benefits the Toyota brand in the long term.

The 100/200 are still vary capable, not to disparage them. If you're tied to the ride quality/NVH, towing capacity, lexus-esque tech, I could see the move to a 250 lacking.

Well as a former GX and 80 owner I think this is the perfect size for most trails.

I'm still considering upgrading to the 100 from my 80.

EDIT: That's a beautiful 100. Really makes me want one.

I keep seeing this comparison but I think it's not an apples to apples comparison.

I think it's more fair to compare the 100 to the 300. Based on the LX 600 and what the LC 300 would cost if here they're right on point.

In the US The closest "Toyota" branded comparison we have to the LC 250 is the 4Runner from a class and use case standpoint. Even though that's not a perfect match it fits better.
Based on that I think it's a bit pricey and was hoping for better base model pricing. Even if one put's 10K down that's still a hefty car payment.

Vehicle prices in general are just stupid even before factoring in the $hiz dealers are doing.

I'm keeping my 100 as a wheeler/dog hauler and plan on getting either the 250 or the new GX as a DD. Leaning towards the GX due to the twin turbo V6 vs. hybrid. Also considering looking at sub 100K mile 200s, since I think too that the market will soften for the 200s once the 250 and GX hit the market. It is going to be nice to have options.

Indeed.

I think that especially the new truck and used vehicle market will see a good fall as supplies finally ramp back up. The inflation has been crazy, especially for used.
A correction is due.

Hopefully the interest rates for car loans drop as well. I haven't looked at them in a bit, but I know they were really high. I don't know if we'll see 1% or that kind of crazy interest rates ever again. I'd take 3% nowadays and be happy.

I wouldn’t bet too much money on either interest rates coming down a lot or available inventories going up that much any time soon.

Just called one local dealer to place an order and he said they are taking deposits at $7500 over MSRP. Not this BS again...

This AMV BS is going to rule the roost for the first year or so. If I were to buy one, this is why I will be in no hurry. I bought my 97 CE 4 years old, low mileage, coming off a lease, got a pretty good deal. I anticipate doing roughly the same thing if I decide to buy a 250, but look for one 2-3 years old. Let somebody else take the depreciation hit. In the meantime, continue driving my 80.

Same here. Dreaming to buy a BRAND new LC ! I could have gotten a LC200 brand new, but really always thought it was way too much for a new car. Weird how the brain works. I know it will not be a 1:1 LC200 sucessor, but like said here, it checks many boxes, that it makes it for the perfect option !

What I don't know what to do is if sell the LC80, the LC200, neihter, or both ! (facepalm). I keep wondering if the 4-banger-turbo-hybrid would be enough to power the LC250 once we start piling roofs, tents, bumpers, etc etc. ! What y'all think ??

I don't know what the prices are yet. I talked to "my" dealer to whom I almost bought a Sequioa, and I am in his "list" but he did not say anything about deposits, or costs yet. I don't know more, but just sharing this. (PS, such a beautiful LC100 !!!!!, congrats !)
