What are the alternate plans since the parkway has been officially closed from end to end in NC other than the Asheville commuter corridor.

The alternate plan (as mentioned in the original post ;)) is if the parkway is closed we will camp Friday night at the lower bald at Cullowhee; or possibly at the camp site where the two creeks converge(if the weather is bad). Both of which are still legally open

Then we will continue as palnned over to Hurricane Creek on Sat.

Right o, just no stopping for meth at the moonshine market... I draw the line of decency there...

Glad you can make it Todd!!

I am getting stoked for this one; looks like we have a great group going and the weather is looking awesome right now with more cold and snow coiming Sunday-Tuesday up there

Well as per my wife, it looks as though I am out for that weekend. I forgot we already had plans to visit my father over in east TN. I'm sure it'll be a good time! Take pics!!

That was a great trip last time.....Misty and Henley's birthdays are that weekend so I'm out, but taking Misty up to Hendersonville on friday night so hopefully we'll get some snow....y'all have a blast.....JP I have some good news about MLK...call me when you can.

Who's ready for a snow run???

Alright guys...... Just got back from a great trip up in the snow and I am stoked about this weekends camping trip!!! Weather is looking awesome at this point with another chance for snow this week and it looks to be rather chilly this coming weekend as well

I would like to get a final head count on who is still planning on coming so we can keep our eyes peeled for you. Also if you can post up your planned arrival time that would be a big help!

Myself and Steen are taking Firday off and should be in Cullowhee around the 1pm time frame if anyone wants to join us at that time that'd be great. The camp for Friday night at this point looks like it is going to be at the end of Caney Fork road where the confluence of the two creeks occurs. This is also the location of the old home/chimmeny ruins we usually pass.... Most of you are famaliar with this location but if you aren't let me know and I will get you shorted out.

Other than that if you have any spare room please bring FIREWOOD this will be a miserable trip if we don't have a raging campfire to all hudle around!!!

SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

anticipate lots of this:cheers:

You mean you're not meeting at the Moonshine Mini Mart?! :D Wish I could make it, just not any days left in my schedule.

Besides, I don't want to get "shorted out" by JP when it's that cold.:flipoff2:

I'm still going to try to show up Sunday morning to hang out a few minutes before I scout a bit. Post up where y'all are going to be camping Saturday night when you know.

Steve we will be camping somewhere along the Hurricane Creek trail Sat. night.... if you need directions let me know.

Hope to see you there

I just wanted to thank JP for putting this on. Had a great time what little time I was there. Weather was really nice last night. Didn't get as cold as we thought. Had a huge fire to keep us all warm. Josie had a blast camping and the dog loved the snow and cold water. Cannot wait to do that again.
