Pictures of the updated version, and an estimate of shipment cost to Australia would be good, or at least the weight of a set.

Soon!

I'm in, if they're coming up soon...

I'm just waiting for the prototype to come back. I'm 99% sure they're going to be what I expect but I've been down this road a few times over the years ;); hence the prototype process even for something relatively simple. Then off to production. I'd be shocked if all this happens within 2 weeks and disappointed if they're not available for you guys in about 4-weeks.

:cheers::cheers: awesome.

Sweet - thanks Dan.

To keep these cheap(er) I've enlisted the work of a good buddy who is all things fab for the prototypes. However he's been swamped with the work that pays the bills ;). I saw him today and he told me he'd be working on the prototypes this weekend. Once he gets going on them it won't take him long. From there its either tweak them a little or pass them to another fab shop that just does waterjet and plasma work. So I'm still hopeful they're 'just around the corner'!

Dan, do you have any ARB'd 100s in the area you will be able to test fit?

Yep...already lined up for the '03+. How different, if any, is the '98-'02 ARB relative to the boxed 'well' for the OEM recovery hook on the '03+?

Which model ARB, I have the early year model ARB3413050. Might have a trip that takes me over the hill depending on when it is.

If it fits the newer, it fits the older

first is the older on sincitys rig

second is mine, the newer 03-07 bumper

Dont know about the sahara, maybe john could take a picture for us?

Interesting. The '03+ ARB bull bar's recovery hook mount/well area is different. Hard to tell but it looks like the new style would work with your bumper but to be honest not as well as my original FRB...

as you can see i had to notch it out. These are your original design, but the C-dog steel version.

Actually now that I'm looking at it they look the same...there is a clearanced 1/2 circle on the inside and back of that well where the OEM tie down bracket fits. So no mods required for the new FRB v2 :). The best, as you know, is mounted in front apart of the bumper...ala Slee's bumper, et al. But barring that there really isn't any other solid place to put one.

Sounds great. Looking forward to this.

The first unit was finally fabbed and just tweaking a couple little things before running a short production run. We're getting close!

I'll know for sure once I pay my fab guy. But the preliminary discussion based upon a good qty order would allow me to offer them out at $40 each unpainted/uncoated; $70 for a mirrored pair. Plus shipping and bolts if applicable.

FYI: At least the first batch will be high tensile strength steel; he cut me a good deal on some scrap leftover from another job. I know some of you won't like this but they are designed to be used with a 5/8" bow shackle/D ring (3/4" pin diameter). This was to keep them as low profile as possible while still doing the job. Most of the quality 5/8" bow shackle/D rings I see available are rated at 4.5T WLL.

I haven't asked my powder coat guy what he would charge to powder coat them. Any preference from the group whether you want to paint them yourselves or have them powder coated and ready to bolt on?

awesome! I don't mind getting them bare. I will use and abuse them so I'll save my money and rattle can 'em.

unlike some who build them up and don't really wheel... more like a status update....
