Found a direct-fit catalytic converter...

I bought the pre cat and after cat for my '96 from this company. I also ordered all the gaskets. The gaskets they sent were crap. I had to order them from the dealer. The y pipe wasn't even close to "direct fit." It took quite some time with the torch to bend it to the proper configuration. It was a real hastle to heat it, bend it, snake it into engine compartment, find out it wasn't bent enough, snake it out, heat....... I ultimately got it to work, but be prepared to get what you pay for. Also be prepared for what happened to Slee. They don't answer their own phone, out sourced to India.

Did you do it yourself? All of the exhaust shops I have asked will not replace with just one. Say they have to match the factory set up.

Yup, did it myself. I just used a length of exhaust pipe and welded it in. Welding on top of it was a bitch, but after testing it a few time and welding in the holes, it works great.

Here are a couple other pics that will give you a better idea of the look and gained clearance...

I found 80k mile warranty cats from Magna Flow (high flow, obd1, high quality shorties) and had a shop weld on my old flanges....worked like a charm - cost 235 bucks including tax for two.
