My 1988 HJ61 is up for sale. It was imported from Japan by Land Cruisers Direct and I purchased it from them 24 July 2015. I have all of the import and purchase documents from when I purchased it that I can send to seriously interested people. My maintenance log is in an attached picture. As of today it has 283,337 kilometers on the clock and that will go up as I drive it to work a couple days a week. It has the 12HT engine, automatic transmission, and factory cable lockers front and rear. It has the 24 volt electrical system and the A/C blows nice and cold.

I have not done a ton to it modification wise. I installed a different CD player with a 24-12 volt converter. Different wheels and tires and a 3" exhaust. Other than that it has just been maintenance stuff as shown on the maintenance log.

The Land Cruiser runs great and starts up immediately but it is not perfect. The only mechanical issue is one of the solenoids for the push button 4WD is out. As a work around I have just been switching the air lines on the solenoids to switch back out of 4WD. The body has a few patches of rust that will be shown in attached pictures and the door cards have been removed. The factory power windows quit working so I switched them to manual crank windows and never got around to making new door cards or modifying the ones I had to work with a crank window.

It has been a great daily driver for me but I am getting ready to transition out of my current job and am minimizing my toy collection (I also have a Ducati Monster 1200S and Custom Built Chopper for sale if you are looking for motorcycles too).

I have a clean and clear Missouri title in hand. I am not interested in shipping the vehicle. I am located near Fort Bragg, NC and am only interested in local deals or you can come to me to buy and pick it up.

I am asking at $12,000 but am open to offers. I do not log on to mud often so please call or text me at (8o1)54o-o325. If you call, leave a message as I tend to not answer numbers that I do not recognize. I will do my best to log and check this thread every couple of days.

Please be patient as I am trying to upload photos. My files are too large and it is only allowing me to add a few to each post... So I am going to have a few posts in a row.

Edited for price drop to $12,000

I am open to feedback from you all as well as to price. I am not in a rush to sell so I won't take anything outrageously low but I can still be somewhat flexible. Do you think I'm priced too high?

I think you are priced just right. I sold two hj61 for 15k & 18k. Seems like the average going rate for them is 15-22

Jimmy,

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been online much lately and didn't see your question until today. I do not have the original but thanks for your interest.

The HJ is still for sale and just dropped the price to $12,000. Check it out and make a decent offer and it could be yours!
