Selling my '55, and possibly my '97 Jeep TJ Wrangler
Guys, I guess more or less looking for ideas or advice on what I should do. Right now, it is a toss up, but leaning towards selling both of these vehicles.
I have a 1973 FJ-55, that has a '74 2-f engine. She needs quite a bit of work. IE. New interior, replace both front fenders and hood, body work, rust repair etc. She will run, but cuts off after a few minutes, so needs a little engine work.
I also have a 1997 Jeep TJ, 6 cyl. Manual It needs a new soft top, and drivers door lock fixed, I have the interior panel off to access the door mech to get in.
I believe I want to sell BOTH vehicles, and grab something a little better for me, the wife and my four kids. I need a daily driver.
If I did sell or trade both vehicles, I am looking for something older, that has room, but still can go off road, and look a little mean. I camp, and do some minor four wheeling trails. Possible a Suburban, or something of that nature. I would like to get half way decent gas milage, IE: above 14mpgs.

I just want some ideas. And if someone is interested, I will entertain offers, trades, etc. I can send photos, or let you take a look at them. I live in the Inman area. Thanks guys.

I think he needs a set of the thinner pre-74 doors to clear his roll cage bars. He drives a 76, and his thicker doors are hitting. Will those old pre-65 doors even fit on the later tubs?

If I'm not mistaking, I believe 63-74 doors are the same
The doors are all the same dimensions 58-74 (excluding softop models up to '63) just small differences in the window layout/style and mechanicals. On the earliest ones the small triangular windows swung the oppisite way of the later ones.... hence they are called "bug catchers"

this one is coming off in the next few weeks and I want give someone a good deal on it.
here are pics. the hinge is an iron pig and the bumper is a homebrew. the tire in the picture is a 315 but it could certainly hold larger. its a nice bumper. I will include Hella Light but I am keeping License frame and cb antenna. I have a few more pics i can send you if your interested. The way its built a trailer hitch can be mounted underneath to the frame still.
I'd like to get $750

Get a SoftTopper cover. I LOVE mine. I couldn't imagine being restricted with the permanent install of a hard cover. It does everything a hard top does, including blocking your vision, with the ability to take it down in 5 minutes. I have used it many times, and I remove it when I don't need it to get better MPG and visibility.

Bought an ARE topper from Travelier. Used, $500 installed. It will go on next Friday after it is painted. I think this is the same one you mentioned, John. The original owner had it on his silver Tacoma on Craigslist.

Will a 97 ARB fit a 93 (i.e., airbag)? I'm sure you know, or could make it work, as I've seen you put on four new shocks in sub-freezing weather at the top of the Whee, all before Alex finished his first cigar . . . .
