I'll be bringing truck to the meet tomorrow night. Selling my '91 4-Runner with only 113k original miles! I've had it listed on Mud, Craigslist and eBay but it gets lost among all the 2nd gens out there and I'd like to sell it within the club. I doubt you'll find one in nicer condition: two owner, CA/AZ, lots invested in 2 years I've owned it with all records. Body, paint, interior are nearly flawless and everything works except items listed below. VIN search shows head gasket replaced at 53k. BFG A/T's have ~85% tread with factory alloy spare. ARB rear air locker/compressor used once. Only seen light trail use - mainly fire roads. Yakima roof rack/hi lift jack mount can be included in sale. Asking $4,500 obo.

Repairs/upgrades:

K&N air filter 7/08
new radiator 8/08
Alpine head unit/speakers 9/08
Sirius satellite tuner 9/08
Clifford alarm/keyless entry 9/08
power steering gear box 9/08
major brake/steering/engine svc 9/08 ($2,500)
5 BFG All-Terrains (31x10.5x15) 10/08
Optima Red Top battery 11/08
Old Man Emu F/R shocks 11/08
Old Man Emu rear coil springs 11/08
Pro Comp Steering Stabilizer 11/08
tranny/4WD svc (F/R diff, transfer case) 2/09
timing/drive belts, crank seal, CV boot 7/09
ARB rear air locker/onboard compressor 7/09 ($1,700)
Flowmaster Super Offroad 44 muffler 10/09
Front brakes, new idler arm 10/09

Problems identified:

engine has low compression (~125/cylinder but otherwise runs fine with no knocks or leaks)
needs new cat converter (barely failed emissions July)
A/C needs recharge (R-12)
sunroof doesn't work
F/R washer jets don't work
clear coat peeling between roof rack (hardly noticeable)

My first 4X4 was a green 90 4Runner...I loved that rig. Looks clean...good luck selling her.

He's selling the 4Runner because he bought this :

Wilbur, looks like you've been to Silverton Mountain? Guided or unguided? And with the Alta sticker I take it you ski, since they are the only ski only mountain left after Burton's poaching challenge. 3 slo isn't bad if the head gaskets were done properly and its running smooth, wish I was in the market for a 4-runner.

done both guided and unguided. best skiing in Colorado if not the Lower 48. if they get good early snow unguided is a ridiculous value.

Utah and SW CO have the lightest snow in America, makes going to AK not so appealing with great dry snow so close. Good luck on the sale of the runner and enjoy your season.

How was your camping trip this weekend? Left the meet with trailer all stocked up and ready to go!

Good luck on the 4Runner sale too...

good overall. little warm but Tonto Creek provided a nice cool off on way home. trailer sure makes hauling/accessing gear easy. hit Kohl's Ranch and the Double D in Tonto Village for drinks as usual. latter has a real cast of characters.

Good to hear the trip went well, it was nice meeting you on Friday.

I used to ski the "champaign powder" on top of Rabbit Ears Pass at Steamboat. You could run waist deep at 50+MPH in that stuff. Kinda like skiing on the inside of a cloud. Don't get much closer to Heaven than that!! John
