Personally, I think it is worth more than you bid.... it is clean, but not worth what they are asking. I bid 11,800 on it the first time it was listed and was high bidder, but below reserve. I called them about it and they said they did not have "much room" in it to haggle. So either they paid too much for it, or they think someone uninformed will come along and pay 14 something for it. They don't even mention the diff. locks in their ad and the salesman "Brann" that went with me on the test drive didn't have a clue what I was doing when I engaged them (off on the grass of course).
We have a local GM dealer that has had a '91 4WD suburban (nothing special) on their lot for $8,500 for the last 6 years! NO JOKE! 6 years. That is their prerogative, but it doesn't make good business sense to me.

That doesn't make sense at all. My uncle use to work for a dealership, and he told me they would rather send it to auction than come down on a car. Which I thought was completely moronic. I don't think a dealer will pay more than what they can get for it. My uncle told me that just about ever car on their lot has about $3500 to work with. So if they have 14k on the sticker they may have close to 11k into it. Who knows though? There's a reason why it's not moving...and it's usually the price. I'm actually hoping to see the market drop a little with the gas prices, but I haven't yet.

I want it, I just can't swing it right now...

I've got to dump my POS JGC first.

I hear ya! I can't swing it right now either.

It's exactly what I've been looking for too. I just need to sell my truck, or pay a little less.

1982 fj60 running, 2500

we have loved and enjoyed our cruiser but now we have to let it go. 5000 in receipts, still runs like a top. I live in the bay area and can no longer justify having a third car. Call me if interested at 510.847.5213. Oh yeah, all original (except for radiator, and midas exhaust) new rear engine seal, exhaust manifold, transfer case seals, differential seals, oil pan seals.... this is a nice truck...

So Jesseinseattle is really JesseinSFO?

Would be interested if you were up here (Seattle) if you are returning with your 60 please let me know

Too bad you are not in Colorado, I have been looking for my first FJ40 about that same year for that price. do you have more pictures?? hell if anything, got you a free bump

have plenty more pics, thanks for the bump

Huh. There are some interesting looking 60s up for sale... Some seem a bit overpriced, and a couple seem like good bargains. Hope somebody's looking!

I think the online only goes back to '84. There's a couple older ones that looked decent and cheap in the hard copy.

Got any pics?
How about rust...etc...

trade

I have a 1984 Fj60. It has 134,000 original miles. Has the usual upper midwest rust issues. It is tan w/brown interior. Has many new parts. My wife would prefer an auto/trans. What do you think?

PMed ya yesterday.

BTT...considering some other prices I'm seeing for basically stock rigs, this is a steal IF you plan on modifying your 80 anway.
