OK fella's here goes. The cruiser is here legaly and is registered in Tn. No issues or problems there. Yes, you could cut a truck in half and try to build one like this but IF it was done right you would end up with as much or more than 37K. Not only that but my experience has been that unless it's profesionaly done you end up with a ton of money tied up in a truck that is never quite right. This one is all Factory and ready to enjoy. Jury-rigged trucks are never a bargan!!
When I bought this truck the suspension had been modified and it generaly had not been to well mantained...dirty brake fluid, worn-out shocks, hole in muffler, etc, etc.
Once I got it home and relized all this it went thru a year-long renovation starting with the suspension and redoing everything that we could think of to bring it back to BETTER than new condition. No detail was considered to small to address. All new OEM Toyota parts were used except where aftermarket was BETTER. EMU 2 1/2" suspension, ARB bumper, KAY-MAR rear bumper with tire carrier, Safari intercooler, stainless 3" exhaust, etc. etc. Truck came from Toyota with factory lockers front and rear, sun roof, 5-speed, and all the bells and whistles.ANYTHING which was remotely qeustionable was replacedor removed, cleaned and replaced. All the engine settings were returned to stock specs and all the work was carried out by a factory trainded Toyota mechanic who also happens to be a deisel nut. Now it is totaly dependable, runs strong, and has NO issues. It's better than a new one....even if you could get a new one and knocks down a solid 22-23 MPG. Boys you get what you pay for so if you want a piece of junk to work on continualy go buy one thats already worn out with 400000 miles on it, cut it in half, get an engine and tranny somewhere that you know nothing about and try to build yourself a truck. But if there's someone out there who wants a cruiser that Looks and performs better than new here it is. BUT IT AINT CHEAP!!

I have had a Hell of a time trying to attach photos to this ad . If anyone is seriously interested, call at 931-729-5033 or e-mail at p.davis49@yahoo.com and request photos and I will try to acomidate you. As for looking at the truck this week, I am 2 hours east of Memphis, 8 miles off I-40. If you want to come look and drive it give me a call as I work at home and can be flexable.Miles are around 140,000.

I wish the seller best of luck on the sale.

To the others that comment on the importation issue and do not have the funds to complete a negotiated price in the range of the offering ($37,000) you should move your own discussions to chat and let this guy sell his truck (you are crapping in his ad).

The seller has offered his email and phone numbers and you should call him with detailed questions if you are a real buyer.

I didn't want to be deleted, I'm quite interested in this as I have a rhd version....

Where was this truck originally from?

Steve bought the truck from the owner of West Coast Cruisers (West Coast Cruisers) who imported it from, I think, Austria. It had a very funky intercooler on it, which Steve replaced the Safari intercooler (I just stuck one on mine and love it.)

I can pull steep hills at 65-75 that I'd have slowed to 50 on pre-intrecooler -and my HDJ80 with the same engine, and weighing - believe it or not, when I'm fully loaded with 90 gallons of WVO and 25 of biodiesel, weighs over 8000# - and I have an automatic. Steve's is almost certainly a screamer - or could be with the fueling turned up. (And I can't get my EGT's over 1050 now.)

Nice cruiser, seems to be fairly priced. Good Luck . MIke
