I just finished installing my rear locker, can someone tell me when the last mounting plug (diff end) on the wiring harness goes. I have a feeling there shoud be a bracket on the end of the carrier.

A picture would be awesome.

Thanks, Jon

Pleeeease. Someone post a picture.

dont completely follow you...its rainin now but i got factory installed oem lockers. will a pic of the 3rd and locker motor housing area work? do you need pic of wires entering this motor assy.? congrats on gettin this far.

The harness has two plugs. One goes in the sensor (two conductor), one into the actuator (6 conductor). The 6-c one is clipped into a little L-shaped metal bracket. As close as I can figure, the bracket screws inot the top of the actuator housing under the actuator shield. There is plenty of stuff to tie to and it's relatively sheltered - can you just use a cable tie?

And while we are on the subject, right before the two plugs (the actuator and the sensor) on the diff end, the harness has one of those press-in plastic stand-offs taped to it. What does that stand off plug in to? I basically figured out everything from the body to the ABS connectors mid-axle, but the exact routing after tht remains a mistery. I suspect that the brackets on the PS upper control arm must be different for the locked and non-locked models.

x2 on pictures!

P.S. When grinding the housing, do not stuff it with newspaper. Or rags.

1.) Exactly what I am trying to figure out. If you look on the transfer end of the top of the carrier there is a flat spot with a bolt hole. I suspect a bracket is bolted there that takes the plastic stand off. It would fit perfectly.

2. But not rags with oil on them. I had one start to burn.

I have it all plugged in and working:cheers: . But I can't figure out where the last plastic stand off before the actuator plugs snaps in.

Nak, thanks for posting these. But I need to the harness closet to the carrier.

Okay, maybe these will work. I think the "stand off" you're referring to plugs into a small hole to the right of the large hole on the bracket coming off the axle for the upper control arm (see arrow.) I hope these are what you're after...

Aha! Man, are these useful! Thank you. I hope that Cruiser804 will be equally enlightened!

Glad I got it right this time. Was the arrow pointing to the area you were after? Just curious If I was understanding what you were after.

It was. Aboslutely perfect, I am now entirely satisfied with the routing. The cable rubs on nothing. Thank you!

Hey, is the little tube that sticks out the the wiring harness the breather? I didn't look at the other end. I retrofit all the OEM harnesses and I noticed a couple of these tubes that went nowhere.
If so what did you use to connect it to the barb on the actuator? What is OEM?

My harness came from the '93 donor. The tube starts as a thin tube with spiral wrap that fits right on the barb and ends somewhere on the frame rail 9/10 of the way to the DS rear quarterpanel. There is one of those little filter/flappers there.

Yep, it is advisable to extend/replace that if you are in the soup often. The actuator will rot in place if you get it wet too many times.

Can I used standard vaccum hose to extend this and maybe join it witht he diff breather?

Use whatever will fit. I would think vacuum line would work, and teeing into an existing setup for the diffs would be ideal. You could run it 12" instead of multiple feet :)
