posted a heap of measurements, shock open and closed, vehicle droops, open closed thengths of vehicle mounts etc, in this "tech forum" already.

Here's what he wrote. I missed his last line when I first read this post.

"Our standard shock is 385mm [15 1/4"] compressed [+ rubber and washer making 415mm or 16 1/4" total.
and it is 628mm [24 3/4"] extended but makes 655mm [25 3/4"] with washer and rubber to mount face.

Our extra long rear shock is 740mm [29 1/8"] extended centre of eye to centre of eye [needs convertor for top or mount change]

Extra long shock is 440mm [17 1/4"] compressed
[required mount moved up at top, making eye above chassis with bolt through by 50mm and a 10mm bump stop spacer.

All measurements are with sway bar disconnected."

WE'RE NOT EVEN COMPARING APPLES TO APPLES! I'll not run without a rear sway bar on this truck. He's been giving me all this crap and he's speaking specs without a sway bar? My setup retains the vehicle safety and his does not. Why do I even respond to him? I guess I've learned my lesson.

So, does anybody (other than ATS) have the compressed and extended length of the N74L?

John, I think you will find Christo supplied the N74L compressed and extended lengths not me.

I wasnt comparing anything if you go back to the thread where I offered the measurements, it was responding to actual bump droop measurements in that thread, and i was simply supplying droop and compressed measurements of the 100 IFS rear for those who were asking, with all the specific details of how it was achieved.

What you do with the information is up to you.

If you would like to buy one of our upgraded sway bars, which work with more travel and droop, all you have to do is ask, if you dont wish to run without one.

Feel free to PM me if you still have a comprehension problem with the whole suspension thing.

.

That would be cool, then John could claim he was the first in the USA to have such a modification!

Ship it!

Slee just posted comparative lengths, not the true numbers.

OEM of your sway bar? Your measurements are still without the sway bar. :D

Like others have asked of you....it sure would be nice to see all of this info and with pics. Shocks, sways, etc. What's up?

I broke my rear sway bar before. Does that count as a first? :D

Uhm....if you know of someone who's fitted this solution to a 100 before me, that'd be great. I'd luv th know about it. There's no such posts on MUD. None of the Cruiser outfitters here in the US sold such a thing for the 100, including Slee.

I'd luv you to share the info I have missed?

My point is: WHO CARES IF YOU STUCK SOME SHOCKS ON YOUR MALL WAGON THAT ARE 1" LONGER THAN STOCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This thread cracks me up.

Many do! Some have already done it and some plan to do it. It's a personal choice.

If YOU want to settle for less off-road performance on your 100 then don't do it. It's that simple. Nobody here cares what you do.

And it's 2.6" longer. ;)

Go ahead and lift those rear wheels. Go teeter toughter. Meanwhile, Bull, GregB and myself (and others) will benefit from this thread. If YOU have a better solution than this...if YOU have a better way to increase off-road performance....POST UP!

Oh Nolan (sigh), now that you're on the 100s forum, you have no idea of all the laughs that you are in for... hehe

I think Nolan should link up with GregB at CM06. When he see's the difference this change makes he immmediately would want to feature Greg's 100 in a TT article.

I know sometimes it's hard to imagine or believe certain things without seeing them first hand. CM06 will give some the opportunity. AND....I WON'T BE THERE! GOOD NEWS HUH? :grinpimp:

John, spealt out for you

WE DO THE LONGR SHOCK WITHOUT A BUMP STOP SPACER TO GAIN ALL THE EXTRA TRAVEL, NOT JUST 3/4"....... WE UNDERSTAND THE ACTUAL DYNAMICS.

No one has said it doesnt work, they just explained to you that the way you have done it [because you couldnt explain it at the time] and the little extra "travel" you have gained, though it has gained some droop. You refused to believe that and have since tried to tell us in 3 threads how much your buddies,a nd wife think it has made a difference for you while looking for good poser shot parking spaces.

You have also then bombarded the forum with said photo's.

Nolen, Im with you, ;) giggle giggle.

Thanks for saying this again. Now everyone who's seen my truck here in AZ and read your posts knows your full of it. The killer is you saying 3/4" is my gained travel. I LUV THIS! THANKS MAN!
And....they're still waiting for pics and docs on what you do.

John, tell your AZ buddies not to confuse "travel" and "droop"

Im sure they probably dont understand this concept, if they have had you try and explain it to them, but you have only gained 3/4" of travel, over your old shocks, but you have gained 1.5" more of droop, because the bump stop spacer is stopping you using all of the 1.5" travle you gained.

Now, please send us another picture of your truck parked beside the road somewhere, because I have some PM bets going with thread participants that I can get you to post 50 pics of your truck in one thread, and theres not many to go now :D

travel =/= droop is all I have to say.

GregB spelled this out a while back. It's been tested and measured. Come on Slee....you know this:

I ALREADY had 2" lowered bumpstops so the 35's wouldn't hardly rub. This reduced the travel of the 100 shock.

Be adding the N74L I added ON MY TRUCK'S SETUP 2.6" droop and 1.6" more travel and it's made a HUGE difference.

You and ATS are ONLY correct if you compare the setups:

100-shocks...no bumpstop lowering
to
N74L...2" lowered bumpstops

So, IF I still had 33" tires and did this mod the outcome would have been on the small side. Since I run lowered bumpstops and 35's the difference is great.

10-4? :D

Actually John, quite the opposite is true. I have 33's now. Since I added the N74L's, I only had to use a half inch bumpstop spacer to keep the N74L's from bottoming out. So, I actually gained 2.1 inches of total travel over the N101's.

I gained the additional 2.6 inches of droop like you did on your rig. But, because I'm running 33's, I don't need the 2 inch spacer to keep the tires from rubbing. Thus, I am gaining 2.1 inches of total travel. (2.6 inches of travel minus the .5 inch bump stop extension)

So, thank you for going through all this for me, because I actually gained 2.1 inches in total travel. In my opinion, for some very basic mods, I was able to gain a substantial amount of wheel travel.

Nolan, I would love to compare at CM06 just to put this issue to rest. Hopefully, we can run the same obstacles and compare the difference. The nice thing is our 100's are very similarly built so there shouldn't be a lot of other variables to factor in. See you in a week or so! :bounce:
