Hi IH8Mud,

My name is Dustin, my company is FN Wheels, and for the better part of two decades we've been making wheels for Toyota trucks and SUVs.

As some of you know we've made a couple of 17" models specifically to fit 100 series Landcruisers, and for those who weren't aware please allow me elaborate.

FN Wheels Five Star and FN Wheels Six Shooter Flow Formed (100 Series Spec)
Diameter:
17″
Width: 8″
Offset: +30mm
Backspacing: 5.68″
Bolt pattern (PCD): 5x150mm
Center bore: 110.2mm (Toyota hub centric)
Stud opening: 16.2mm diameter (accepts extended thread aka “ET” lug nuts for maximum stud engagement on short, OEM Toyota wheel studs)
Load rating: 2,500lbs+ per wheel
Wheel weight: 22lbs (approximate) Five Star / 24lbs (approximate) Six Shooter
Manufacturing details: Flow formed from high purity A356-T6 aluminum alloy
Certification: DOT, JWL-T, VIA, and SAE J-2530 approved (SAE J-2530 is an extremely stringent, voluntary testing standard that is stricter than DOT, JWL-T, and other governmental testing standards).
Additional features: Knurled bead seats for enhanced bead retention at low psi. Reinforced inner and outer lips/flanges for increased strength and rigidity.

What makes these wheels 100 series specific?
  • We're not shoehorning a Tundra wheel onto the Landcruiser 100. The rim width and offset (ET) optimized for the Landcruiser 100.
    • 17x8" +30mm offset allows for proper suspension travel and articulation with larger tires.
    • This fitment is akin to adding a 1.25" wheel spacer to the OEM wheels, but without the spacers of course.
  • Center cap designed to fit over the tall Landcruiser 100 hubs/axles.
    • The center cap fits without the use of wheel spacers and without the need to machine center bores. You do not have to go "cap-less" with these wheels.
  • 110mm hub centric center bore so that the wheel seats properly on the hub.
  • Lug holes / stud openings drilled to accept M14x1.5 ET shank lug nuts for maximum stud engagement with short, OEM Toyota wheels.
To date we have produced the 17x8" Five Stars in matte black and matte gunmetal, but going forward we plan to only produce matte gunmetal regularly and matte black semi-regularly. We have manufactured prototypes of the Six Shooters in 17x8" +30 5x150 with the taller cap, but full production runs of the Six Shooters have only been made in the 17x9" +25 5x150 "flat cap" version for the Landcruiser 200/LX 570, Toyota Sequoia and Toyota Tundra. We can produce the 17x8" +30 5x150 LC100 version of the Six Shooter at anytime if we have enough demand from our 100 series customers.

What is the purpose of this post?
Multiple IH8Mud members (and self professed IH8Mud forum "lurkers") have asked me to start a thread to gauge interest in getting a production run going for matte black, matte bronze or other finishes as well as a production run of Six Shooters.

Our factory production minimum (MOQ) is 48 wheels per part number. I.e. in order to go through the process of making the wheels, at least 48 wheels must have the same diameter, width, bolt pattern, offset, color, clear coat and center cap configuration. Given that the 100 series is becoming more of a rarity, and also given that these wheels are very specific to just the 100 series, we aren't producing them as frequently. I'd like to humbly present this opportunity for a group buy to get a new production run going in different colors that we don't currently keep in stock. Normally we don't do group buys, but I feel like this is a good opportunity to produce the exact wheels that some of you guys have been asking for.

Our lead time is 12-16 weeks from the date we send the order to our factory. We have not yet increased our pricing for 2025, which in light of the ongoing tariff situation reflects a discount. However, if we can get enough pre-orders (pre-payments or deposits) to make a special production run I will provide a discount off the current price of $224.75 per wheel + shipping. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to offer this deal, but for now I want to be as aggressive as possible with the pricing so that we can hopefully get this going sooner than later for everyone who has been inquiring.

These are some of the requests that I have received thus far:
  • FN Wheels Five Star Flow Formed : 17x8" +30mm 5x150 in matte black
  • FN Wheels Five Star Flow Formed : 17x8" +30mm 5x150 in matte bronze
  • FN Wheels Six Shooter Flow Formed : 17x8" +30mm 5x150 in gunmetal (either normal, light, or dark gunmetal with either a matte or gloss clear coat)
  • FN Wheels Six Shooter Flow Formed : 17x8" +30mm 5x150 in matte bronze
All of these wheels would be 100-series specific with the taller center cap.

Please reply to this thread, direct message me, call us at (951)735-1100, call/text me directly on my cell at (714)390-9387, or email FNWheels@gmail.com with any questions, requests, or just general discussion. I'm a big Toyota SUV/truck enthusiast myself, and I always enjoy talking with fellow enthusiasts.

Sincerely,

Dustin

P.S. I realize that my screen name doesn't have the "Supporting Vendor" label. I've been in touch with @woody , and he gave me the OK to post as a vendor. He and I had worked out a deal many years ago for a set of Six Shooters. :)

I love the bronze 5-star. I think I'd be in for a set of 5. Will there be a time limit on getting the required pre-order commitment? While I'm down to commit now, if it doesn't happen for the next 6-12 months I will probably look for another option (like the gunmetal).

I LOVE this style wheel for Japanese trucks. I'd love to buy a set in Bronze someday
My only comment is that the stock 100 series wheels sit inwards a bit, and many people, including me run a 1", 1.25", or 1.5" wheel spacer to get them to line up with the fenders. Glad to see the offeset options

Nice! The size and offset would also work well on the 200... granted the spokes clear the brake calipers. (Not all 100 wheels fit the 200).

I've been wanting to go to 17's for some time because I want to run this Nitto Trail Grappler MT tire. I think it's the perfect tire for my needs.

Can you post a link to the 100 series offerings? I tried your website and didn't find the correct ones

Interested in either the 5 or the 6 in bronze, a full set of five. However the timing will matter: I need new tires soon and my truck currently rides on stock 16s. How likely is a set of five rims, delivered to Seattle for ~$1K total, before the end of the summer?

Same question, delivered to Albuquerque. Would put the money down now if needed.

Thank you. Based on the posts from yesterday alone, and assuming that everyone who posted on here or emailed me is willing to leave a deposit by May 15, the ETA would be late August for matte bronze. Right now I have 5 or 6 Landcruiser owners who seem to be seriously interested, so if everyone were to leave a deposit I'd go ahead and fill in the rest of the orders to get the production moving along. If we get to the point where 8-10 IH8Mud members (or IH8Mud lurkers) leave a deposit I will discount everyone's order.

To answer your question about the time limit, I will set a hard time limit of 14 days from the date of the first deposit. If we find that it won't be feasible to get the wheels produced timely in the color you've requested we'll give you the option for a full refund of your deposit. As of right now it's looking pretty good for the matte bronze option, so I'd feel confident in placing the order with my factory if I was able to get deposits on 5 or 6 sets right now.

Also, if for some reason the wheels aren't ready to ship by September 15 the deposits would become fully (100%) refundable. *Based on deposits being received by May 22, 2025.

Thanks! I completely agree. The classic Japanese-style five spoke is one of the best looks for our trucks.

The +30mm offset we offer is essentially like having a built in 1.25" wheel spacer.

This 17x8" +30mm Five Star definitely clears the LC200 (and Tundra/Sequoia) brakes.

We're also working on a 17x8.5" +35mm or +40mm offset version, but those wheels won't be ready for a little longer.

We've also provided quite a few LC200 owners with the 17x9" +25 5x150 version as well.

Sorry about that. Our website is woefully outdated, but the new website should be up really soon (it's about 85% done).

In the meantime, this is the link to the 100-series Five Stars that are in stock now:

Some 100-series customers also go with our 18x9" +18 5x150 BFD flow formed, but that width and offset is a little bit aggressive for most LC100's.

The Six Shooter that I posted above hasn't been produced in 17x8" +30 5x150 (yet). To date we've only offered it as a 17x9" +25 5x150 with a non LC-100 center cap option, but the picture I posted a few posts earlier shows a final prototype of the 17x8" +30 5x150 Six Shooter with LC100 friendly center cap.

Emailed. In for 5 of the five star in matte bronze or six-shooter (if that happens first).

Thanks! As of right now it's looking like we have a few more requests for the Five Stars over the Six Shooters, so the Five Stars might end up being available sooner. It's only been a day though, so that could change if we get enough Six Shooter requests.

*Edited : I don't see an email from you @alimh . Would you mind sending it again to FNWheels@gmail.com or shoot me a text message: (714)390-9387.

Right now we have 17x8" +30 5x150 Five Stars in stock in matte gunmetal. If you need something ASAP, this would be your best bet.

Otherwise it's looking likely that we'll be able to have the 17x8" +30 5x150 Five Stars in matte bronze by the end of August give or take a few days. The Six Shooters would be a "maybe" (please see my post above).

$1k for five (5) 17x8" Five Star flow formed wheels delivered to Seattle is not possible though. That's less than the normal, pre-tariff price for a set of four (4). If we receive 7-10 customer deposits for the same wheel I believe I can get you a set of four (4) for right under $1,000 delivered to Seattle, but $1,000 delivered for five (5) would be below cost. The wheels are made from 6061 T6, virgin aluminum alloy in a factory that makes wheels for very well known, mid-to-high end brands using an advanced flow form manufacturing process. Our LC100 wheels are also made in pretty small batches since the wheels are for extremely specific applications, i.e. not we're doing huge, mass production runs. We're definitely not the most expensive, especially for the quality, but we're also not going to be the cheapest out there either.

I'd say that if we get enough orders in so that I can offer you guys the discount, I should be able to get you five (5) 17x8" +30 5x150 Five Stars up to Seattle for right around $1,175 - $1,225 shipped (all-in, depending on the address and whether or not you need lug nuts). Also keep in mind that we don't ship per industry standard. Our standard shipping method far exceeds industry standards. We ship all of our wheels double boxed with all outer edges reinforced, fully insured, and shipped with signature confirmation. This adds about $13 - $15 to our cost for shipping, but it's well worth it in the long run.

Same question, delivered to Albuquerque. Would put the money down now if needed.

Thank you! Please see above. We'd be shipping out of Southern California, so shipping to Albuquerque is roughly the same cost as shipping to Seattle.

One other option that I've been offering customers for the last few years as well : if anyone wants to have their wheels shipped to a UPS Store or UPS Access Point location (they're everywhere) rather than directly to their home or work address, the savings on shipping is typically somewhere between $9 to $15 per wheel. That would save you anywhere from $36 to $75 depending on how many wheels you're ordering. I'd be happy to look that up for anyone inquiring about a price.

Lastly, whatever price we quote you will not increase. If tariffs increase or if shipping costs increase between now and the time the wheels ship, we'll honor the price listed on your sales order as long as the balance is paid in full by the agreed upon date.

I would love to get in on a set of (5) Five star in gun metal.

Cool. We can definitely put together a set of five (5) Five Stars in gunmetal. We have the wheels in stock now. The website just lists them in sets of four (for now until the new site launches), but if you contact me directly I can put together a set of five wheels for you.

Definitely my favourite aftermarket wheel out there. Specs are ideal and they're handsome. I'd have a set if I wasn't so deep into my RW's.

Just wanted to add that Dustin is a great guy and the wheels are high quality. Fantastic customer service from Dustin. Ran a set of six shooters in my 4th gen 4runner for 13 years, my buddy is now driving with them on his 5th gen 4runner. Still look great.

Dustin already posted the Pic of my gold cruiser up top. Here's the five stars on my black garnet cruiser.

I bought an older version of these 5 Star wheels from Dustin in 2017. On my 2001 LX with a 1/4" AHC lift, 285-70-17's fit perfect, no mods needed. With my new 285-75-17's (34's), I had to do a pinch weld mod (rubbed when I turned into parking sports) , 12 o clock fender liner mod (would rub there when I hit certain bumps/dips at speed), put a fender washer behind the front bump stop (this and the fender liner mod eliminated my 12 o clock fender liner rub) and had to relocate my washer bottle (rubbed when I reversed out of parking spots). My alignment is in spec with maxed out caster.

Which 285/75’s did you go with?
