Looking good!

Interested in seeing a picture of what you used for the center link frame mount.

Here are some pics of it. It comes in the kit from RuffStuff.

Flex Pics

I got things put back together and drove over to a field to try and get some flex shots. Not the most flex, but they'll do for now.

Looks awsome man, flex is greatly improved in the front.

the shocks seem to be the limiting factor on more flex. In the last flex picture, the shock is fully extended at 12".

If the other side is fully compressed at the same time you are fully extended I would you have a winning setup for sure!
Edit- as long as it goes down the nice.:)

Put together a kit, become a vendor, quit your day job, and start hanging out with Woody.:D

How are the on-road manners?

Waiting on the drivesahft spacer to arrive before I take it up to full speed. Yesterday I only took it up to 30-35mph to drive up to the field where I tested the flex. First impression - I am pleasantly surprised. It did not pull to the left or right, but tracked straight down the road. Steering felt nice and heavy which I haven't felt in a long time. I turned down a side street and let go of the wheel as I was finishing the turn. It self corrected like a stock 80 should. It feels like I have some good positive caster. I will test at higher speeds and report back once I install the spacer.

4Crawler Offroad DS Spacer

I installed my 4Crawler Drive Shaft spacer this morning and took the rig for a "high speed" test run. At 70mph everthing felt great. No pulling, wandering, vibrations, etc. , it felt good! Going to be camping and wheeling this weekend and will report back on how everything goes.

Dang. I was all set on doing the radius arm flip because I keep hearing 3 links don't do well on road. But you are the 3rd person that has done it and says it handles just fine. Hmmm.

Do you think this could be done with Johnny joints, or even the factory bushings from the rear control arms? I'm just not a big fan of hiems on a DD.

Definitely keep us updated on how you like the setup as time progresses.

I hear nothing but good things about the JJ's, plus they are cheaper than the heims. I have the heims cuz they came with the kit from RuffStuff. They are big and look nice quality though.

Derrick,

Is the drive shaft engaging enough, even with the spacer?

It appears it it isn't, probably could never happen, but any concerns about it coming out during suspension travel?

On the Heim's vs. JJ.

The JJ are less maintenance, but bind before Heim's, since the latter inherently have greater misalignment capabilities. Don't know if relevant on this platform, but, essentially, Heim's allow for greater articulation.

Chris,
You are correct that the DS is not fully engaged, but I believe it is engaged enough. I am not too concerned with it coming out during suspension travel as I'm sure it would of happened last weekend when I was testing the flex and didn't have spacer installed. I do have enough adjustment in the lower arms to pull the axle back a good 1/2" which I may end up doing to be on the safe side.

you are better off this way than the other way around, having it too tight can cause serious problems if it punches the TC on a hard hit, at least this way it will simply drop out.....

eventually though, IMO, you are going to have to have that driveshaft redone to make it right.....

There's about 1 to 1 1/2" of splined contact area, if memory serves.

I was concerned about the DS travel before the latest, of way too many, drive shafts, but according to Jessie at High Angle, there's only about 3/8" compression capable and only at full droop.

Not sure how that differs on a 3-link, though, but doesn't appear that compression will be an issue.
