3-link with 10 inch Slee coils.

Hmmm, I want some Slee 10" coils. :)

Dutchie - any info on the green sand ladder things on your roofrack. I have a set I found in a junkyard many years back but don't know much about them...

My analysis on what he is running given the pics that have been posted: Looks like either a 3 link or non Triangulated 4 link (the 2 modified stock arms and 2 additional links that tie into the top of the axles parallel to the lower links) where-by he is only using the back bolt on the stock steering arms cutting off the front section of the arm completely. Springs look like 8" supper softs. Curious to get the answer from the owner (just like everyone else).

yes setup, sorry idont speack english :o.....

coils=king spring 7" lift, front 3link,rear stock... sorry

look at the rear stear on the truck Cristo posted. crazy.

the rear can be too flexy. my rear was running j springs with 4" slee medium coils up front. the rear was just too loooosy. I ran this setup at cruise moab this past year and she would get a little tipsy on the sidehills. i have no swaybars

When i got back from moab i changed out the rear j's for 4" slee heavies. so Puurrfect now. Slee coils all the way people

I'm forgetting your shock package, but what I did was stiffen up the valving on my shocks since they have that ability and it helped...have you given any though to adding an "anti-rock" sway setup. The guys down here love them

I had my fox shocks custom valved "as hard as you can make them" and they are ok. i can move well across the desert and dont bounce on the trail.

i probably could use an antirock in the rear

I'm sure Christo will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believ in previous posts with that paticular truck it was described as a ramp champ that didn't work on the trail at all.

Sometimes people get so hung up on ultimate flex, they forget they have to control it too. The ramp champs of the late 90's early 2000's. By running with no swaybars, you've given up some degree of control over your flex. Usually we drop swaybars to gain flex, but then we loose control over the flex, that's what the anti-rock system is suposedly all about, controling without limiting.

I find my rear swaybar will still allow me to drop springs out, but without it, I am more weeble wobbly - but as long as I don't fall down, I'm good....

I will play.

Not like some of the other rigs but she works pretty well for me.

I'm about to put on Slee's 6" lift on my LX450, and are there any changes or recommendations folks would make to maximize the effective travel, or just leave it alone?

step 1, throw the OME L shocks in the trash - they're not appropriate for a lift that high, you'll have almost no down travel (droop). Adapt the top to eye rather than pin, and put your choice of 12-14" travel shocks on.

Interesting...so, the L shocks are how long at full extension? Full Compression? And, when you say adapt the top to eye instead of pin, are you recommending this for both front and rear? And, is there adapters already made to do this or do I need to fab them? Do I still want to use the lower bumpstop extensions or remove those, as well, to maximize up travel? Or, keep them because of the larger 37" tire size?

I think you can get the full extension / compression off slee's web site.

here's what's been done on the rears by some

https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/158408-rear-shock-adapter-extender.html

here's what I did, but I'm running really long shocks (14" travel - like 35 or 36" extended or something nuts like that) and only 4" of lift (j's in rear j's and spacer in front) - so I really needed alot of extension. Now that I've gone to 37's I need to tweak it all a little bit.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/162864-extended-shock-towers-14-rancho-9000xls.html

and here's a whole list I complied some time back, that aught to go in FAQ.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/163065-faq-shock-mounts.html

hopefully you're not going with the 6" to fit 37's, it's wholely unnecesarry. There is some good stuff in this thread (below), and some garbage too. That all started from an observation that at that time Slee's 4" and 6" kits had the same 2" bumpstop extensions and same shock, so the 6" didn't actually allow any bigger tires to fit than the 4". Don't have any idea on what he's selling now as I went far away from anything off the shelf the day I ordered my XL's.

I have really a really simplistic view on set up though. Pick a tire size, pick bumstop and tire offset needed to fit them, get springs that lift you about 5" off the bumpstop to give you that much up travel, then put in the longest shock you can manage. I only use 80% or so of the 14" fronts today, but they'll be good for any future mods. There is a little more to it than that, but that's my theory on setting up shocks and springs, but that and $7.50 will get you a cup of coffe.
