I love mine. But, they only target jeeps now.

Check Mike's (@ginmtb) thread, about "won a 40 on a coin toss", or something... he built a very nice mount.

I'd find it for you, but I don't have great cellphone service out here.

I picked one up in the classifieds a while back.

Thanks Dan for directing me to "ginmtb"'s thread he did a really good job and now maybe I understand why FJMounts didn't do so well with their brackets for cruisers. because we all have fabricated parts and accessories for our trucks from time to time and most have the ability to make some sort of hi lift side bracket instead of paying a $ buck and a 1/4 for a FJMount.

found an interesting site on the net while looking for anyone selling a FJMount for cruisers, check this out "4x4=16" don't know what was happening in April 2011 but this gets kind testy.
makes you appreciate our moderators.

I never understood the appeal of these mounts and location other than being able to lock the jack so someone don't make off with it...Some carriage bolts and a few wing nuts would suffice for me.

Depending on the app, I have done the same. There is a s***-ton of real estate under the hood of a 1970's era Chebby. I built two support bars that went over top of my fan shroud and mounted my hi lift there...with carriage bolts and wingnuts. The jack never came loose. And with an inside hood release, it was reasonably safe as well.

I'm still trying to get over the fact that $8.00 worth of materails and a lock that I can remove with a pair of channel locks is actually selling for $125.00 :meh:

...until the next guy offers it for $124.

Welcome to America.

Well it isn't available anymore so that should make you feel better... ;)

I modeled mine after that and probably spent $15 since the lock was like $12. I'd be curious to see if channel locks could remove the lock since it spins freely when locked and does not engage the bolt. It is a common lock on many rack systems made by the big rack companies so if they were that easy to unlock surely there would be some backlash. I also bolted mine to the step vs used the pins to create some more work for would be thieves.
