What happened to this product? I see the company was featured here at mud in 2011 but have not found the product listed for Land Cruisers but listed for heeps. Was there a patent problem or law suit. I find it hard to believe that demand was so low to discontinue it. Any info would be great, thanks.

I contacted them last year and they are "working on a lock mechanism". I don't really think they plan on moving forward with that product on LC's. Have you checked out their FB page? It's all about the Heeps!

I sent them an email asking about their brackets and if one of the models for heeps would fit a cruiser but I have not heard back from them yet. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow. Going by their design it probably wouldn't be too hard to make one.

Was thinking about this myself the other day. Would grab one this second if they were available again.

I made mine with a nut welded to a shackle plate for tightening the jack down. The second hole in the shackle plate serves as a place to pass a padlock thru the plate and the jack. Problem solved.

That was easy:doh:
just seems kinda funny that his company is called FJMount but he only makes products for heeps.

The mount was originally just designed for fj40's... as he has an fj40

He spread to jeeps because there was a demand ... fj40 mounts are low demand low volume...

I just went to his www.fjmount.com and see only j-mount everywhere ... no more f... but still says fj on the knobs... kinda sad to see the ones who started his venture push off ... what the f :meh:

:)

I have posted this before.

Repurposed stock shackle. Fixed end modified to fit over windshield hinge. Stock pin to span the gap. Cut down stock bushings for insulators, shackle nut welded to free plate.

If you know how to weld, it's not too hard to do it yourself. I do not know how to weld so I made some measurements and had a friend weld it up. Even if you had to use a shop, it couldn't cost that much.

Took some scrap laying around cut at an angle.
Drilled a couple holes and welded a nut on the backside.
I drilled a couple holes in my running board and put some pins through the bottom of the Jack.
Sourced a threaded knob from Grainger and tada, High lift mount.

Thanks for the 2nd time pictures Mark, good idea with the shackle.

JohnnyC...I also went to fjmount and sent an email to their company addressed to "jonny tsunamii aka Dave" letting him know of this thread and of the interest of cruiser owners for an update for the availability of his product for cruisers...we'll see if there is a response:deadhorse:
