Just picked up a 96 FJ80 where it lost oil pressure and toasted the engine. Searching threads, I determined to just swap.
I want to keep with the 1FZ-FE and found a 94 at a local yard for $850. They don't know the mileage but claim the compression in each cylinder to be at 200psi at all 6. 30-day warranty.

Opinions: do I take it or not?

Im no mechanic and a 1.5:banana:, but sounds high. Seems average is around here are 155-180 (equal number across 6 cylinders).

it sould be 150-180 psi...if it really is 200, i suspect there is a lot of carbon built up on top of the piston causing higher compression..

Reminds me of that line "Ocean front property in Arizona"

Yea, I thought it might be a bit high. I'll keep looking around.
Thanks all for the input.
