I'm parting out my very rusted 1991 stock Cruiser.
Replaced it with a 1992 Cruiser. I was excited to have a spare alternator, but the plugs are not the same.
I was under the impression the 91 & 92 were part for part swap outs.
Alternator is pulled from the 91. New regulator matches the 92.
Is this normal?

Toyota made two different alternators between the years. They had a 12V 80A and a 12V 90A. That would be the difference in them
12v 80a: 27060-61091
12v 90a: 27060-61100

Thanks! I don't see that distinction when I google FJ80 alternators.
Bet that has led to a lot of mail order disappoinment.
(The alternator in the '91 doesn't look like the 90A's I see on line. It has the external fan.)

As a follow up, I replaced the popped headlights, fuses, relay, fusible link, and voltage regulator.
Everything works fine now. Probably a huge overkill, but when you are in the process of parting out, you have all that stuff laying around anyways (except the regulator, which I had to buy). It's just as easy to replace it with known good ones.
I theorize there is no way to blow all bulbs at once unless the voltage is way over 15V.
