FJ73 landcruiser 3f petrol won’t run.

Hello everyone! I’ve got a fj73 with a 3F petrol engine in it I haven’t had a problem for 12 months or so now all of a sudden it doesn’t want to run.
I’ve changed the ignition to electronic and put a bran new carbi on it aswel as all new spark plugs and still doesn’t seem to want to run.
If you start it the engine revs up then coughs and pops out the exhaust and stalls.
Any ideas before I go spending more money on replacement parts? Haha.

Yeah taco I replaced them the fuel seems to be staying the same half full on the glass that it always has.

So a mate seems to think it may be a vacuum issue so the carbi is back off with all new gasket and glued.
Give it the night to set and give another go tomorrow!

Look for a vacuum leak by spraying state fluid around your various vacuum lines...

Yeah honger I’ve done that mate so the engines actually half runs not but still blowing loads of black smoke and when you unplug 2 of the spark plugs the engine doesn’t run any differant.
I have replaced all of them but tried using two of the old spark plugs just to make sure I don’t have duds but still the same

Is it the Toyota carb ?
Are you getting a good spark to all cylinders?
Got the plug leads around the right way?

Is there a ballast resistor in your ignition circuit?

A bad resistor may allow the engine to start but not run.
